1st Boulder Gym Tournament Festival

To kick off the first ever gym event in the history of pokefarm, Whitdjinn and I are going to hold the gym typing tournament. I've had the idea for this forever, because its not easy trying to battle all kinds of different pokemon while being held back by typing. So here's your chance to join in on the fun and have a first hand experience at being a gym leader/assistant. :D



Firstly, the prize

First place winnners will receive a TRU shaymin :492:
Second place will receive a UT Hasty nature Articuno :144:

the rules will be standard gym rules.

Item clause
duplicate clause
uber clause
ohko clause
typing clause - your team must be 3 pokemon of each typing. 3 rock types and 3 flying types. you use a rock/flying dual pokemon, that frees up a slot.

Now, special for this tournament, we are going to allow legendaries. (that are not uber). However, you are limited to one legendary per team and it MUST COMPLY WITH THE TYPING, it being either rock or flying.

If someone does break the rules, you will be subjected to a DQ.

Other than that, I personally welcome you to Boulder Gym Festival. Sign ups start now and hopefully, we can all start this as soon as we get enough people to play.

:EDIT: Whit and I both see that a full team composed of rock and flying would take too long to get started, so we've decided to lower the number to 4. The level of these battles will be at 50. It will be just one match. Battles have already started, but be sure to remember to PM me first, so that I may inform you who will be your opponent

Just a few questions. How long will we have to create a team because i m pretty sure most people dont have a rock/flying team ready to go. Also about the legendary part. If somone uses a rock/flying type, could they use a legi that isnt rock or flying provided they still ahve 3 rock and 3 flying?

nope. as i stated, the legendary must follow the typing, it being either rock or flying.

yes, the free pokemon rule applies in this tourney, allowing you to use any to your liking, however you may not use that to free up your slot to use a legendary.

I see your point with it taking a while to get a decent team going. ill edit the post as soon I work that out with whit.

Nope, the wild card slots don't count for legendaries. Any legendaries that are used must be either rock or flying.

nah. seeing as we are giving you two freebie slots, the rock/flying pokemon won't give you another freebie. two rock/flying - one of them being able to be leggie. the other two are up to you to decide on.

I want to this to get started ASAP, so if you said you'd sign up, i'd expect you to at least finish this all the way through. Start breeding now and PM me when you think you'll be done with a team to battle everyone else.

I know school is still in session for most of you, so i think it would be safe to say to start this....friday.

Correct; 4 R/F, 2 wild. The only thing you can't use are Ubers; non-Uber leggies are allowed.

that's perfectly fine as well. it can be any combination you like, as long as you fill the requirements of 2 flying and 2 rock.

I've checked those too, i haven't read a single thing about you being ready for the tourny. maybe your getting confused with the gym assist battles? sorry, but I've already DQ you from the tourny anyways.

Ah well. It was fun while it lasted. I just lost it after the beginning and didn't know what to do :( Man, I hate that strategy of yours! lol. Anyway, congrats on winning the tournament.
