I have 10 Event Manaphy that I am going to give away. They are all legitimate and were obtained through WiFi at a Toys R' Us in West Hartford, CT. Here is what you need to do to win one:

RULES AND DETAILS BEGIN HERE! READ CAREFULLY!

Right after these details, I will be giving a word problem. The problem will involve simple math and research. The first 10 people to PM ME the answer will win a Manaphy. This is the only fair, objective way that I could come up with doing this.

Do NOT PM me for any reason pertaining to this contest besides the answer, as I expect my inbox to clog up otherwise. I wish I could've gotten a Manaphy for all of you, but there were only so many that I could get.

Please note: You only get ONE chance to enter, so be sure to double-check your math. If you have doubts that you may have made an error, write down the numbers you used for the equation in your answer.

THE WORD PROBLEM BEGINS HERE

Let's say that in an alternate dimension, Australia had an event (finally) that the US did not have. It was released on the release day of Pokemon Dash, with the trainer name being the Pokemon Dash developer. Nintendo did not place restrictions on the Pokemon in terms of nature. The Event Pokemon can be determined by the following math equation:

[Current # of Legendary Pokemon (Not including Arcanine or Phione)] + [(Number of forms of Pokemon National Pokedex #133) x (Number of forms of Pokemon National Pokedex #351)] - [Sinnoh Pokedex Number of Onix] + [Number of Games for Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Gamecube, N64, Wii, and NDS with the word "Pokemon" or "Pikachu" in it]

The solution to the math problem is the National Pokedex number of the Event Pokemon.

Knowing all this information, and following previous event conventions, determine the Trainer Name, ID, Pokemon and Pokeball given at this hypothetical event.

I intend to be very strict about the form in which you write your answer. Questions can be posted to this thread.

Good Luck!

Arcanine is legendary pokemon ?

That was just to avoid any confusion. In its Pokedex entry, Arcanine is classified as a "Legendary Pokemon" just like Chansey is classified as an "Egg Pokemon."

Also, I apologize, the number you end up with in the math problem should be a National Pokedex number.

This is in the rules, but I'll restate it:

The first 10 people to PM ME the answer on this thread will win a Manaphy.

I can see where this would be confusing, and it's because I wasn't clear. Please don't post the answers on this thread. It reveals the answer you got and will encourage people to copy. So, please just don't do it. I've edited my original post for clarity.

Please read the problem and what it's asking for. It is asking you to PM me a 4-Part answer. Go back and read the problem if you're confused.

which region/country's release date of pokemon dash are you refering to?

also, when you say "Number of forms of Pokemon National Pokedex #133" do you mean number of evolutions, and if so, is the basic pokemon included in the count?

Sorry, yes, I did count Battle Revolution. If this affected your calculations and you already sent in your answer, you may revise it. All CURRENTLY RELEASED games.

but what about rotom?

Rotom is unique in that there is only one in-game, but not legendary, in that it can breed and its stat changes are not representative of a Legendary Pokemon.

i don't think you saw my questions earlier in the thread, so here they are again:

Please read the word problem for your first question. As for your second, I felt like it's pretty clear since other people have gotten it. I mean both evolutions and variations.

People seem to be having trouble with this part, and getting the rest of the question right but just this part wrong, so I'm going to not require the Pokeball that the Pokemon would be in.

Only one person so far was able to make the logical conclusion that since this Pokemon would be distributed in 2005 (which is 2 full years before the 2007 release of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl), the event Pokemon MUST be in a Pokeball, as Cherish Balls had not even been created yet.

I am also accepting 2 different answers for the Pokemon that you end up with.

Here is the answer to the problem:

THE MATH:

[34 Legendaries] + [(8 Eevee Forms) x (4 Castform Forms)] - [Onix Sinnoh #34] + [EITHER 31 OR 33] = 63 OR 65

Abra OR Alakazam

The release date of Pokemon Dash in Australia was 04/07/05. Following previous Pokemon Convention, that would make the Trainer ID 04075.

The developer of Pokemon Dash was Ambrella. The trainer name would be AMBRELLA

Only one person got the answer completely correct, and there was one who was close enough to merit a win.

timmyeatsfood and Trevor, congrats! Please PM me with a convenient time to trade. I'll be posting another contest to win a Manaphy by the end of the week.
