What is the deal with the little notches in Emerald, what purpose do they serve????

What do u mean little notches?

Do you mean on the cartridge or in the game.

If you mean lots of little dots they are braile or whatever and they just say where the 3 regis are and what you need. The translations are on bulbapedial

nope not that, all over hoenn there are these holes in the mountains that seem to be blocked for some reason by a rock that can be smashed or whatever so i ask why? i click on them and they just say "there's is a notch or nitch something of that nature in the wall. etc

Would they be by any chance the holes for secret power?

yep, they are secret power opened secret bases. It's a really good idea really, they need to bring it back! You could battle your friends that you mixed records with and then battle them for exp or EVs. Plus you could have accessories all over too.

I think they already brought it back with a secret base in the underground. :)

those don't have the same features... you can't mix records and record their team to battle over and over again. That's the main feature...

Yeah I see what you mean. They should bring it back, but I don't think they will make 2 ways to have a secret base. I think the underground is here to stay.
