With platinum out,I will be breeding on it and diamond soon. So if I trade a pkmn from my diamond to use on my platinum(it will be my main battling game) will I still be able to get a shiny badge sense I actually bred it myself or does it all have to be from the same game?

yeah, I think that is is gonna be pretty annoying... I was thinking about this and I thought that it wouldn't work, which would be really annoying... >.> Maybe it's possible to register 2 official names and trainer IDs per person... pwetty please...

I too have this question. I was going to migrate my battling pokes to platinum so I can record all my matches and review them afterward. But I would like me to still qualify for a shiny badge with the pokes.

that's not how it works for shiny badges.

you need to have the same OT and ID no. per game. If it doesn't match up, your not going to get a shiny badge.

The rule for a shiny badge is that all the pokemon you use have to have the same Trainer Name & the same Trainer ID. It doesn't matter what game they are on now as long as those criteria are met.

If you transfer a complete team from Diamond or Pearl & use them on Plantinum, you are fine. They all came from the same cart & use the same trainer ID even if that isn't the cart they are on now.

Even if you did all the breeding and training, a team with members from different carts will have different trainer IDs & names. This will not qualify you for a shiny badge. This is the same situation we were in when folks wanted to import the 2-3 best members of their Emerald team & use them with a bunch of new pokes bred in Pearl.

A question relating to this.

Will i be able to use a mixed team for a normal badge.

So like if i use a pichu from pearl and then 2 pokes from diamond can i still get a badge or do they all have to have my ot for even a normal badge.

Normal badges can be won with pokemon from a variety of sources, yes.

if you trade over all of your good pokes from pearl to platinum and make a team that has all the same OT and ID. No. can you teach those pokes move tutor moves? For example could a team have pearl OT and ID. NO. but a Mence with Outrage, a Scizor with bullet punch and a Garchomp with Aqua Tail?

yes, but you would have to trade it back and have the same OT.
