View Full Version : Buneary > Lopunny Trouble?

Has anyone experienced difficulty evolving a Lopunny? I have done enough for this Lopunny to evolve 5 other Pokemon with happiness and I still don't have one heart off this little guy.
It was Lv. 12 when I began, Bashful nature, Happily eats anything. I have fought many, many, many low level battles with just him, fought harder battles switching him out with a stronger poke, fed Poffins, did the massage, walks in the park, even included it as my lead poke in a battle with the E4. And not one stinking heart out of all of that. I carried the Soothe Bell for a long time too.
Am I training a bum poke? Anyone with advice or same experience?
Thank you for your time.
Maybe it just hates you. XD Just kidding. Well, I guess you just have to be patient with it. My brother has a Lopunny, but it didn't evolve until around Level 44. Good luck! =)
*** Edit ***
It just might have to do with its nature... It IS bashful after all. =)

That is what I was thinking. I'm ready to try my female, but i've already invested so much time I feel I need to make him do it.
Have you let it faint a lot? That may slow its evolution down some, I believe. And don't fret! Patience is a virtue (which I severely lack, lol XD). =)

I have been very careful about this, although in past expeiences I have found it isn't too detrimental, unless it happens a lot. Buneary, however, has never fainted.
I'll just try Lil Rob's tip, riding bike for 15-20 min, and then level up.
Thanks for your help Nak.

Did you check the the Poketech that shows you how much your pokes like you?

Buneary is by farm the hardest Pokemon I ever evolved threw happiness. After the you catch it, it starts with a base happiness of 0. The lowest Happiness level of any Pokemon in the game. You really need the Soothe Bell being held. Massage it whenever you can. I am not 100% sure on this, but take it to Amity Park and walk around with it. By far the easiest way to raise Happiness is berries.
Berry Happy
#21 Pomeg Berry
#22 Kelpsy Berry
#23 Qualot Berry
#24 Hondew Berry
#25 Grepa Berry
#26 Tamato Berry
Those berries all raise Happiness level, while removing EV's. So use them to start before you train Buneary.

Celph77 - Yes, I have checked the Poketech, he doesn't like me .
Buzz - I have done all you mentioned, but maybe I should breed one at Lv 1 and just Berry it to death. At least i'll have something to do at work tonight!
Thanks for the extra input all.

Not a problem. I remember when I was looking threw my Pokemon to see what Pokemon I needed to finish the Sinnoh Dex. Lopunny that will be easy. Well 3 days and 50 levels later, I got it. Level 0 Happiness is insane to raise.

I just wanted to thank everyone and update those that tried to help me out here. Although most advice had previously been applied to my Loppuny I took a new approach to this poke.
I found that when you use a Lv. 1 Poke, a few berries, couple vitamins, and about 5 minutes (actually less) you will have your happiness evolution. I wanted to make sure it wasn't a fluke so I did it with a Togtic, Espeon, my Buneary, and one more... I forget.
Any way, it works. A Lv. 1 Poke cannot lose the stats when you give it the berries that Buzz mentioned. They may lose 1 point, but their stats are already so low, they can't go lower. I found with 3 berries, and with a couple vitamins to bring their stats back up, or even, they already gained one heart. A couple sets up and down the bike path while holding the soothe bell gave them the other heart. Then with a trainer battle, EVOLUTION!!! This worked for Togetic, when my Togepi wasn't even my lead Poke!
So, thank you all, and hopefully any one else trying to figure out the happiness evolution will have no problem achieving theirs now.
P.S. ~ While killing time on the bike trail I hatched a bunch of Munchlax and Snorlax, no special Move-sets, but I have about 7-8 of each if anyone wants one.
OMG Buzz did it again XD
And holy :(:(:(:(...
O.O
Buzz is the new Beacon Gym Leader! OMFG run for yer lives! XD

Those berries only remove EVs, not actual stat points. If you gained 48 Speed EVs, that is 12 points in Speed, so say you went up a level and gained them all you would go from say 20 speed to 32 atleast because of the 12 EVs. You each one berry that removes 10 EVs you drp 2 points. Eat 5 berries that drop speed stat and you lose the 48 EVs and 12 points. You would be back to the base of 20 speed like you had not even EV trained it.

Thanks for clarifying, I am not very good at all the specifics when it comes to really knowing what I am doing when training a pokemon, really training a pokemon like I know some of you can do.
When I say stats, I am speaking in general, cause when it comes to "the stats", I really don't know what the heck I am talking about! I start reading some of the posts here and I get easily overwhelmed. I wish I could sit down and take the time to grasp it better.
Understanding it better from your post, that was just what I knew was going on (not to that depth), but was trying to explain/understand. A Lv. 1 poke, can't have most of it's points/stats lowered by those berries, cause they are usually already as low as they will go. But the will still reap the benefit of the raised happiness.

Good point. I did not read your post correctly. I guess that is the differences in Pokemon. You were thinking well Lv. 1 has nothing to start with and I see oh my wait you won't lose stats. Same answer just different ways of saying it. Congrats on the Lopunny. I think I was at level 40 before I started using the berries, so much wasted time for a bunny. But Lopunny is actually pretty fast.
