Does anyone have a text file with all of the Pokemon move data in it? I'm working on the Pokedex for the site and I'm tired of typing.

Serebii has a list of all attack moves and you can save the page as a text file, but you still have to clean out all the HTML to have just the moves. They use a ton of extra coding in their HTML and it is very bulky. But you can check it out here Serebii Attacks (http://www.serebii.net/diamondpearl/allattacks.shtml).

Yeah, I was trying to avoid scraping another site.

Either way, any text file with Pokemon move data would be copying something. Any way you word it, data is interchangeable. It will stay the same no matter where you get it from or how you reword it. As long as we credit them, I'm sure it's fine. Emailing them first tho might be a better option.

If you are just using the text from their page so you did not have to type every single move name, you are not really taking anything from their site, just their typing. Also it is the same for the IV Calculators. Legendary Pokemon came up with the IV Calculator and just about every Pokemon site uses their calculator. Only thing that gets changed with the calculator is its color.

You would still have to credit them. They took out the time to type everything out while we copyed and pasted. What I meant to say before was that anything dealing with data, can't be original becasue data stays the same. So I think rewriting everything to make it look the same as theirs is a waste of time. We can copy their text, perhaps add or remvoe a thing or 2, and give them credit for typing it up in the first place.
