I can say with absolute sureness - that you do not need to trade them back to Pearl or anything like that. The only thing that matters for regular badges is that they are not hacked.

For shiny badges all 6 pokemon must be bred from the same cartridge, it doesnt matter what cartridge. They could all be palparked from emerald or leaf green, as long as they all have the same OT/ID# they are eligible for the shiny badge.

Whit posted this earlier. So you are saying if I had 6 Pokémon all with the same OT/ID# I would be o.k. for a shiny badge? So I have 6 Pokémon bred by WCN I could use for shiny badges? All 6 have the same OT/ID#.

I thought the way the rule was originally it had to be the same OT/ID# as the cartridge the Pokémon were on.

I suppose it is a loophole in the rule, but I hope that what is being suggested isn't the case.

Though I am pretty sure that we all agree that it has to be pokes from our own cartridge. Otherwise, get the loophole taken care of now!! :p

I am just saying the way whit had it worded it sounded as if all that mattered was 6 identical OT/ID#. Which really There is nothing saying what a person's OT/ID# is for the cartridge they were using. If all 6 OT/ID#'s matched, then people could have been using their Diamond Pokémon on their Pearl game or whatever.

So instead of rebreeding new Pokés for your Platinum chip, then it is o.k. to bring your old Pokés and continue your battling?

I am just confused since I am planning to rebreed on my Platinum when I get that far. The few that gain new moves on Platinum is worth the rebreeding I think.

im pretty sure that is not he meant.

The OT/ID no has to match up.

I could have a team filled with bev's pokes and im pretty sure that's not going to guarantee me a shiny badge.

Well if it is a known fact that the pokemon was not bred by you. Like if you had this team

Toxicroak
Crobat
Noctowl
Gengar

So on, all bred by an OT called Mike then its easy to see its WCNs breed.

Pretty sure and sure are not the same, that is why I asked the question.

There is only 1 person that plays Pokémon named Mike? I have my trainer names as Caden, Buzz, and Galen, only 2 of the 3 would be me.

It has always been said that as long as you bred the pokemon on the same cartridge as eachother, they qualify for the shiny badge.

It is obviously not the intent that 6 pokemon from someone else's breeding will be able to get the shiny badge.

However I don't believe there is a problem playing on your plat cartridge with 6 pokemon bred from your pearl/diamond.

Buzz I know that there will be more than one Mike, but I mean if they had the exact same breeds as WCNs events then it is clear that they didn't breed them.

I started this whole argument accidently with a simple question.

Listen, I don't care for shiny badges yet. All I want is to know if I can continue to earn badges, any badges, but I would be doing all the battling from my Platinum instead of my Pearl. I would breed new pokemon, but I already have some very good pokemon on my Pearl, that I want to have Platinum Tutor Moves on. If I have to trade back and forth from Platinum then to my Pearl again, then so be it. That's all I wanted to know.

To me it shouldn't matter if they have the same OT and ID. I traded all my pokemon to platinum since it is my main game now. I find it pointless just to re breed a whole team just for a game. Same with tutor moves. It seems pointless to re breed a pokemon for a move when you could transfer it and teach it the move. I mean if someone wants the shiny badges that badly it is kinda sad. Plus wouldn't you know if a pokemon was farmed here? I mean all pkmn breed by that person will the same info. I am sure you will know that persons name if they are common here. Now if it is off site then we won't know, but i find it silly they have to be on the same cartidrge. I mean heck they could have gotten them from someone else too.
There is never a way to truly know if it came from that cartridge. The only wany would be if the names match up, and even that leads to questioning.
