As we reach the tail end of April and its showers. I have one more offering, Huntail.
Huntail evolves from a Clamperl by attaching a Deepseatooth to it and trading it. In Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald, one Deepseatooth or Deepseascale could be obtained by trading a scanner to Capt. Stern. While Platinum has many new things to offer, one thing it doesn’t have is Clamperls. I have 30 of these Deepseateeth that I have gathered over the last year and will be attaching them to the Clamperls that I have bred.
These Huntails will have the ability of Swift Swim that doubles Huntail’s speed when Rain Dance is in effect. They will all be Adamant (+Attack, - SpAttack) in nature to take advantage of their higher base Attack and physical move pool and have the following moves:
Rain Dance (Summons Rain for the next five moves)
When Rain Dance is in effect, Swift Swim will kick in and Water moves increase in power by 50%.
Body Slam (Normal, Power 85, Acc 100)
While this isn’t the most powerful move, it has one major advantage. It has a 30% chance of paralyzing the opponent and letting you set up.
Waterfall (Water, STAB, Power 80, Acc 100)
Not only does Waterfall give you a powerful physical STAB move, but you also have a 20% chance of flinching the opponent. This works well in tandem with the Rain Dance boosts in Speed and power of Water attacks.
Ice Beam (Ice, Power 95, Acc 100)
While Huntail has a higher base Attack, its SpAttack is still pretty good. Though with an Adamant nature you probably want to switch Ice Beam with Ice Fang (Ice, Power 65, Acc 95) at level 24.
