Is it possible to transfer from Crystal to Sapphire?
I Googled it and got a pile of unintelligible chat speak about a time machine, but no actual instructions on how to do it...
I'm assuming that you need two GBAs, and a link cable...

As cowmoo and dbb say its impossible. The time machine was trading from gold/silver/crystal to red/blue/yellow.

Keep up good hopes though as when HeartGold and SoulSilver are out you can transfer the jhoto pokemon from there to d/p/p. Now everyone who has the game will have atleast one shiny in there whole time playing pokemon!

You can pretty much seperate all pokemon games into two groups.
Group 1: Red, Blue, Yellow, Silver, Gold, Crystal. All N64 Pokemon Games.
Group 2: Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald, LeafGreen, FireRed, Diamond, Pearl, Platinum. All Gamecube & Wii Pokemon Games.
Games in Group 1 can exchange Pokemon between them. (with a few restrictions.)
Games in Group 2 can exchange Pokemon between them. (with a few restrictions.)
There is *NO* crossover between the groups. None. Zero. Zilch. Nada.
One of the few things we do know about HeartGold & SoulSilver is that they will be 4th Gen games when they are released, putting them solidly into group 2. So sadly, even when you own a copy of SoulSilver, while it can trade to Platinum, it will not be able to connect to an old copy of regular silver.

most likely not. This would require a different style of trading cord and it would be too complicated to switch all the IVs to group 2 style.

Really unlikely. For a few reasons.
- The way stats are created changed from Gen II to Gen III. IVs, EVs, & natures work differently. You would have to re-create the pokemon, not just transfer them.
- Nintendo Stopped selling Silver/Gold/Crystal five years ago. That is an eternity in video game time. Why go to a lot of trouble to be backward compatable with something that old, expecially when Diamond/Pearl/Platinum aren't compatable & people didn't really care?
- Most Silver/Gold carts had batteries that stopped working after 7 years. As we are now 10 years out from their release date, most people's save games have stopped working. Why do all the extra work of getting them to transfer if only a lucky few will get any benefit out of it.
- We have already seen a set of remakes: LeafGreen & FireRed. They didn't let you transfer from the old games.
Don't get me wrong, I have an old copy of Crystal that still works, and I'd love to get some of my old team off of it, but I really don't think that is ever going to happen. :(

Actually, it is infact impossible, since GBC games can't be played on the DS, So therefore, HG an SS will never trade between both groups =D Also, I think it's really to late to bother with creating a GBA game that is compatible with silver and ect, also silver/gold/ect don't have it in their code so you would need a recoded version to be able to connect to another game.
So I guess, it is impossible.
