Hello my name is Slizer I am the host of the first Bug Catching Contest! There are certain rules as to how this works. All these will be explained!

Each pokemon which is BUG type is allowed. Every pokemon depending on how easy they are caught and what form of evolution they are have a base starting points. This reflects how hard you have worked to catch the pokemon. This also shows what pokemon can be entered.

Now of cours catching the pokemon is only one side of how hard someone worked to catch the pokemon. If they have worked to get IVs the IVs give points,

Each IV will be added together meaning. Lets say someone has decided to catch Kricketot and it has the following IVs.

11/4/16/25/8/18

All these numbers will be added together meaning it would be 82. Kricketot giving a base of 13 would mean its 82+13=95 score.

But this is not all if the nature is the best for the specific pokemon you get an additional 20 score! Although having a bad nature for it will deduct 20 points!

All pokemon must be un touched and without EVs (so no vitamins folks) If I find the IVs impossible without EVs the player will be disqualified! I will be IV checking them all myself.

All pokemon must be caught on either 30th or 31st May. Any pokemon caught before or after this date will not be accepted. Remember to check the date and clock on your DS :cool: The contest does not accept hatched pokemon as they are not caught.

Now of course there will be prizes. 1st place chooses 2 things first. 2nd, well second. And 3rd chooses 1 thing.

Sometimes there is more than one nature that benefits a pokemon depending on what moveset it shall have. Will you be taking that into account?

How will we know what nature is good then. Do we just pick one from smogon or something.

I'll sign up. FC in trainer card. I also agree with pikadude. How do we know exactly which nature is good and bad. What we may think is ideal for a certain pokemon may end up being bad and visa versa.

I think what slizer said was that the natures will be selected; I'm guessing that he'll choose which natures he wants to see on the Pokés, and will post them here.

By the way pokemon caught on GBA games wont be accepted ;) As some are alot easier to catch, such as Heracross.

I am curious on two things however...

1. Will only one Pokemon be evaluated when tallying the score, or will there be more?

Wow just pokeballs that is going to be challenging. So let me get it right. You get points for the pokemon you catch, extra if its shiny, Great ivs and beneficial nature appointed by you. So do we lose points if we dont use a pokeball?

Hey Slizer, here's a suggestion: give a set amount of points based on what type of pokeball we use. Pokeballs/Luxury Balls/Primer Balls would garner the most points, seeing as how they have the lowest catch rate; while Nest/Net Balls would earn the least amount of points, because they have a high catch rate for bug-types.

That is true, but pokemon easy to catch with a pokeball earn fewer points according to your chart, because they are also easier to find in the wild and are at lower levels.

I defiantly expected the same thing, but it really isn't too hard if you get them in red and maybe use a status effect. I'm sure you won't have a prob if you can catch legendaries since it is much easier. Still might have to waste 2-5 PokeBalls. @.@

If anyone has trouble, the method I use is hold up and B maybe 0.02 sec before the PokeBall shines at the end and don't let go until it is caught. If you have your own method go for it. :-D
