With a recent influx of questionable shinies and event Pokemon, we have decided it necessary to give the Hacked Pokemon Helper a fresh start.

When posting to the Hacked Pokemon Helper, please list all of the following:

-Any Ribbons
-Sheen (from poffins)
-Where it was met
-What land it came from
-What level it was met at

Anyone found not following this format will be notified and have their post deleted until they can provide all of the information requested. Please, post only one pokémon at a time. We understand this may be a lot to ask for some of you, but please understand it is a necessity to make sure our hard-working and honest community stays that way.

final note: Regardless if the pokémon was acquired off the GTS when posting the pokemon for trade you must list where it was acquired unless it is for personal interest. This way it is up to the discretion of trader to decide if they want the pokemon or not.

A word of advice to those members who trade for shinies and/or legendary pokemon.

Be sure to double check that the IVs match after you have received the desired pokemon.

In a perfect world we would like to think that no one would post false IVs, but there is always the possibility. If this does happen (which probably wont) please contact one of the admins ASAP.

I may be jumping the gun a little, but I can't find any location where it can be captured at level 40.

According to bulbapedia, in the kanto region Gastly can only be caught in the pokemon tower at the following levels:
Gastly FR LG 13-24 90%
Gastly FR LG 13-24 86%
Gastly FR LG 14-24 85%
Gastly FR LG 15-24 75%

It looks like a hack, unless I missed something.

Same with me. You cannot soft-reset Lati@s or the legendary dogs, so they are the rarest of shiny legendaries. So most of these on the GTS are hacks. Why would anyone ever trade away a legit one?

In Emerald you can by not saving after you select which Pokemon it is on the television as that is when the Pokemon's IVs and Nature is set (easy enough to do if you trade a Latias/Latios to get the Pokedex entry). Plus there's that Eon ticket place which I know that you can reset.

Though as with all Shiny Legendaries I just don't see why one would trade it away especially if they put the effort to soft reset for it. Though I guess that depends on what they were trading for too.

Even if everything else was fine, this would be two strikes against it in my opinion. Serebii is all about the clones.

Just in case it wasn't clear in the first post of the new Hacked Pokemon Helper thread, we are deleting all posts that do not include complete information.


The old thread got clogged in lots and lots of "what are IVs?" type questions. We are trying to make the HPH a dedicated "is my pokemon ok?" thread.

If you are not sure how to get a piece of information that is needed, please post in the Q&A thread.

If you see a post that does not have all the required info, please report it to the mods rather than responding to it. We will remove it & ask the poster for the right info. Lots of posts saying "We need your IV's/Nature/Moveset" just clog the thread.

The politoed looks good. If I got a fishing rod shiny I'd whip out the masterball with no hesitation.

It would still say Kanto I think; it records the original location - just like colosseum/XD pokemon register as distant land despite being traded and pal parked from a GBA game.

With really decent IVs and a modest nature, I'd say that this was SR'd. Its a good find.
EDIT: Wow, this guy is good. We have determined that this darkrai, and the others obtained, are all hacks. The IVs are exactly the same on all of them. Whoever hacked these can easily get away with it! We should record these IVs somewhere to make sure that any Darkrai with them is caught and branded as hacked.


Future Idea: I think we should include genders as a requirement here. Some of the event Pokemon are a certain gender only. Also, color of OT.

Hmm. "I have obtained a few Japanese Movie Darkrai" should have been a good tipoff something was off. These were so rare as to be non-existant. For a while Serebii outright banned them in the trade forums as they felt that 99.9% of them were hacks. There have since been other Darkrai events, but the legit movie ones haven't gotten any more common.

Then when he posted one stat block that represented several Pokemon, you had to know they were clones :rolleyes:

No, no banhammer. Just making sure it wasn't received off of the GTS, since a legit one can not be obtained that way. It looks legit to me.

woah ! i hope not a lot of money. Though Darkrai is an awesome pokemon, it is not allowed in most competitive battles. I have one and have done nothing to it since i got it.

btw, you got Nature and Characteristics interchanged. Natures are Adamant, Timid, Lax, etc. what you wrote are characteristics. this indicate one of the IV of your pokemon. you need level, Nature and the Stats to find out the IV of your pokemon.

everything looks a ok, except for one tiny detail. you posted raw stats. what we all are looking for, is IVs. they stand for individual values. to figure those values out, you need to have a battle at level 100 over the wifi. records all the stats at 100 and then input them into an IV calculator. I like to use legendary's calc, since its real easy to use and gives pretty accurate IVs.

that darkrai is a hack. All legitimate darkrai come at level 50 from newmoon island.

is there ANY WAY to detect a pokesav pokemon event file? ive bought some pokemon (i know, i know, ) that to ME look 100% legit. they have the proper dates and everything, id be happy to run them by here, but is it entirely hopeless to detect if someone made them using one of those pokesavs? i dont understand that process (hows it get from your computer to your ds?)

The way is they use a ar to transfer them over. I can't say no more. But trust me and don't buy pokemon with money. Even though they look 100% legit they are pokesaved. Where someone can enter every single bit of data even ivs into it so it looks legit. So don't go buying pokemon.

But we would be happy to have a look at your pokemon.

I had a pokemon with the IVs of 28/7/27/0/7/4...so it's not as rare...then again, they aren't right next to each other...

The Magikarp looks fine to me too. I think the IVs are just a coincidence. I'm sure nobody would bother hacking a non-shiny lv.3 Magikarp with a bad nature and bad stats.

Slowbro,luvdisc,gyrados,octillery,farfetchd,and swellow. (the only places I trained him were, trainers on route 225 and fishing by the pokemon league:)) I think that might help.

remember that it may have been trained, so the stats would increase. therefor increasing the iv's :)

darkrai - you would need to get ahold of the EV reducing berries and use them to remove all the EV's before knowing what the IV's are. If you can do that figure out what the actual IV's are, then I would be interested in trading with you.

The Question marks are from Korean games. Their characters don't show up on our games so trainer's names are either blank or show up as three large question marks. Well, the Dialiga is at level 100 so I assume it was ev trained. If you know the evs you need to type the stats along with the evs in an IV calculator.

I'd advise not to trade. I can't see why anyone in their right mind would offer up a Ho-oh for a meganium without it being a hack or clone.

I'm up-to-date with them. That is a Shokotan Pichu, a Nintendo Zone Jirachi for Tanabata and the new movie Arceus (it came with a Rowap berry). Original trainers should be しょこたん for the Pichu and えいがかん for the Arceus.

Additional Info: It was originally a houndour at level 29. I used one rare candy to evolve it. It is untrained as none of the ev reducing berries had any effect on it.

I think he means, you can only obtain it through an event, therefore, you can't "catch it". I think. I'm not quite sure. But, that's the way my shaymins register- with the TRU as the caught.

To be legitimate it would have to be Japanese, but neither its name nor its trainer's name is written in Japanese characters. I don't think that it's likely that it's legitimate. Also, the IVs were never posted, which makes it even more suspicious.
