Sasuke715, a good try! Your Pokemon seem tough and I was surprised by your shiny mixed attacker. Unfortunately we had a disconnect partway through the match, but you are welcome to challenge me again tomorrow.

Sasuke715, you have amazing luck-- all those freezes and critical hits with Ice Beam-- I wish I could play like that all the time! :D You definitely could have won, but another connection error got in the way of finishing the match. Wish I had some advice to offer you on that, but without being there, I really couldn't say.

Your team shows promise, but it took you a little too long to get past Lichen and by the time you got rid of him, you were too far behind to catch up easily. Your team also doesn't seem to have a very strong defense-- I noticed mainly attackers-- and I think a few of your Pokemon could benefit from some move changes here and there. Consider that and you can challenge me again as soon as tomorrow. :)

ShadowMario33, I liked your team! Excellent placement of Focus Sash, that really helped you a lot-- I had nothing to counter Starmienza after it KOd Heinrich. It was great to see some solid UU Pokemon in the mix, though. :D Shell Shock and Class Act 08 (or whichever number, sorry) in particular.

Sasuke715, you put up a good fight, but one hour is enough. Since your Skarmory ran out of attacks and it's obvious that it can't KO Lichen, and Lichen can't KO Skarmory either until it runs out of Roost PP, this match is a draw! You can rechallenge me tomorrow if you wish.

I must say, every time we battle, I'm left in awe of your luck. Five flinches without Serene Grace or even a King's Rock! Three of which came in a row at the perfect time! Man, what's your secret? I wish I could play like that. :D

Hahahah I use kings rock for one poke and then for the rest I train them with scope lens so their attacks can flinch or become critical the more attacks they use

Except your Pokemon wasn't holding either of those items, and anyway King's Rock doesn't affect moves that already cause flinching. So I'm still envious. :P

Sasuke715, if your Scizor had Bullet Punch you would probably have won that match! It was also very unlucky to lose Avatar to Blues' crit. Either of those Pokemon could have turned the match around for you. On the bright side, the disconnection issue seems to be easing up! :) Don't get discouraged.

Purrfect was a great lead. Diva is my new UU. now, i know why it is considered UU. too slow ha ha.

Haha, but Diva looks so cool! And that's what they make Choice Scarf and priority moves for, right? :P I know the feeling, though. So many great Pokemon are hindered by blah stats....

Nope it was a major stall war. They were both using harden the entire time. So much time passed by the metapod were like sundials as the sun set LOL.

Ancient Mew, good battle! I like a lot of the Pokemon on your team!

Now that I've seen more of Diva's strategy, I think I have to agree that maybe he's a little too slow. Ultimax, however, is extremely powerful and I'm very grateful he didn't crit Lichen. I also believe I got lucky with De Rol Le's flinch against Boompaw-- I didn't think of it at the time, but Boompaw can probably learn super-effective type attacks, so that was probably a bad move on my part.

In general I think you played really well until Lichen came out, but letting him get set up meant big problems for your Pokemon later on.

your Lichen is great. i always had problems with this pokemon even from the old pokemon games.
i'd have to re-create a whole new team before i battle you again.

Ouch, yeah, I forgot about that part with poor Erica. That was awful luck for you with those two misses. Erica should have been able to do that faster and then be at full HP for later.

Sasuke715, that was a tough match! The way you took out Lichen, I really thought I was going to lose. I had no idea how else to deal with Swampert. Metagross was a big threat as well. Fortunately my birds were able to outspeed them and deal enough damage to let me recover. That was very close, though!

Sasuke715, your namesake really had me on the rocks-- those Pokemon are super-tough to take down and yours is no exception! Yikes! I messaged you about this already, but I think some of your move selections could be improved.

Sasuke715, a very narrow victory for me this time! That was surely our closest match so far. Lye and your Bronzong must have the same speed. Bad luck to win the speed tie but miss on Hypnosis! If Hypnosis hit, you could've recovered some HP and stalled. I'm not sure if Bronzong would manage to outlast Lye's PP, but probably, although it would have taken a long time (re. that infamous 45-minute Skarmory vs. Lichen match...). That was really a tense match-- great game. I had a lot of fun with that one. :D

Sasuke715, I started off well thanks to Shockwave and Trick Room helped Holy Diver clean up. In comparison with all those slow rock types, I don't think you were prepared for something as quick as Shockwave! Please try to check your firewall settings before battles, though....

Sasuke715, not much to say about today's battle since not a lot really happened. It was going well but you accidentally conceded. Unfortunately I think I need to count that battle even though you tapped Run by accident. I will say that your new lead is good as long as you don't get p-hazed... certain Pokemon are immune to that, however....

I would also like to point out that the strategy of your lead and one of Sasuke's moves contrast with each other too much to be really effective. It might be good to think about changing one of those two things. PM me if I'm being too vague about this and you have no idea what I'm talking about. I'm just trying not to reveal your strategies. :)

Sasuke715, I honestly think you made a bad move partway through the battle that really cost you. Losing Roserade and Swampert like that was not good. :( Believe me, I make that kind of mistake all the time, going for status instead of damage that might help more. Sometimes it's very hard to decide which would be a better move. In this particular case though, I think going for Toxic was really a mistake, as Lichen was about to faint.

Sasuke715, congrats on a win! That team you used successfully exploited my team's weaknesses and it worked out well for you! Those key critical hits with Blastoise at the end sealed the deal by wiping out two of my Pokemon immediately. Some of that famous luck coming back to ya. :D You can rechallenge Whitdjinn now! I think towards the end you made a couple of bad switches that ended up costing you the match-- when I had Holy Diver out, you could have saved Volta and Erica and defeated Holy Diver using just Bernard and Boompaw. Aside from that I think you played very well and it was definitely a challenging match.

This kinda has nothing to do with the battle but I was pleased to see your water type and your bug type. Those are two of my favorite Pokemon. You have good taste. :D

Losing Skarmory due to that critical-and-paralyzing Thunder Punch was painful, but them's the breaks. :) Your Bugsy doesn't need both Bullet Punch and Quick Attack though, that's kind of a waste to have both. If I were you I'd pick something for better coverage.

Yeah GG. I think my mistake that cost me the match was letting Coral K. get paralyzed. If only De Rol Le was a little slower I could have finished him and your last pokemon off.

Yeah, that was definitely bad for you. Coral K. would probably have ripped through my team otherwise. But even despite Coral K. getting crippled, if you had managed to take out De Rol Le with Fiedo, my last Pokemon would also have fallen to Fiedo without even facing your last two. So it was still pretty close. :)

Sasuke715, you really are improving a lot and I think this newest iteration of your team is an improvement. However, I would be cautious about using both Flygon and Dragonite-- that seems to be a pretty bad ice weakness. Against my gym team it's not so important, since I really only have a couple Pokemon with ice moves, but in a less structured situation that could cause major problems for you.

Alb0403, let me start off by saying I really liked seeing your team. Most people I battled for the gym so far have had OU Pokemon species that I see over and over again (which is fine; they're popular for good reasons). But it was fun to see a bunch of more uncommon Pokemon this time. You even had a certain water-type that's one of my favorites. :D

That said, you battled well, but I think some of your Pokemon are held back a little by their moves. For example, you could change Psybeam for the more-powerful Psychic-- that kind of thing. Your Pokemon could be doing more damage if they used better attacks.

At a more detailed level, I have some other observations about how you could further improve your team, but I won't go into too much detail here. If you are interested in what I have to say, however, PM me the details of your team (moves, natures, EVs and etc.) and I will be happy to provide more detailed comments. I like helping people get better. :)

Yea I agree cinder. I put her under my tutelage. I wanted her to learn to battle like sasuke since I battled her most recently and shes been improving day by day.

RJ61, that was a good match, and you started off very strongly by taking out Betelgeuse and nearly Esca. But I think the turning point was when you had Beans use Outrage on Acacia. A STAB move would have KOd Acacia at that point, but she was able to survive the Outrage and made things difficult for your team until I gained a solid lead. There was also an opportunity where you could have exploited the side-effect of Roost with your Swampert to hit my bird with Earthquake, but you didn't... and a few points where you focused on stat-ups, only to get forced out and waste your turns.

Think about what move will be best for you in a situation, to respond to what I'm likely to do. Developing a sense of prediction is really key to doing well. Better luck next time. :)

Sasuke715, you keep improving and you're definitely better than when we started this battle marathon. Your prediction is getting better but in my opinion, again, you seem to make some moves that maybe aren't the best choice at the time. Like with your Umbreon using Taunt/Toxic repeatedly. It sort of worked in the case of De Rol Le, but you ended up basically wasting a lot of turns against Acacia and Lichen... actually, I'm not sure what else it could have done really, but you see my point-- sometimes stalling works well and sometimes not. But sometimes you do catch me with an unexpected surprise, which is great. Keep going. :D

Pikaluva13, I can't put my finger on anything specific you did wrong... you had a strong start in the match and took out Betelgeuse and Heinrich pretty quickly, but then you weren't able to adapt well when Blues and Esca came out to take revenge. Cold, icy revenge. :P

Pikaluva13, best of luck next time! You weren't very well prepared for Shockwave, and then Dolly got frozen by Esca again (although fortunately, only for one turn this time!). It was just too hard to recover after falling that far behind. Once you're rested and feeling better, I hope you'll challenge again. :)

T roo, you started off well by getting rid of Shockwave and Betelgeuse, but I was able to outpredict you at some key parts and you had a bunch of bad luck during this match that you weren't able to recover from. Better luck next time, though. We've all had these days.

Sasuke715, that deserves mention as an extremely close battle. :D You certainly found an effective strategy to use against me and you were doing very well! All those misses on Glaceon, and then your Aggron activated Quick Claw at the perfect time to outspeed Blues... you had almost a certain win. But as we chatted about in the comments, you made a major error at the end with your Roserade that let me come back from my losing position. If Roserade had used Weather Ball in the hail again, instead of starting Sunny Day, Acacia would have KOd but then gone down to the hail damage. With Acacia down, your Aggron would then have been able to easily KO my remaining two Pokemon.
