I'll start. When is the beta testing going to end and what can we expect from the final version?

It looks like it does by itself. I have noticed to higher levels u get the more regenerates at one time. I guess that is to compensate for your bp being able to hold more.

Anyone found an easier way to make money? I think the Caterpie to start and then move up to Pidgey on the crimes are the best I can do right now for no jail time. Caterpie 1 BP for 1 EXP and $100 for selling your Caterpie. Pidgey for 5 BP gets you 5 EXP and $1000 payout and $1000 for selling your Pidgey straight out.

Guess I could always join a gang. :p

You will encounter Crystals soon enough, believe me. If you're really desperate you can try to rob the psychic with the crystals. I've got 143 IQ, all through crystals and 2 school courses, so it is possible ^^

Why is it that a Weedle has no value? Shouldn't it at least be worth the same as a Caterpie?

EDIT: I notice Weedle's been given a token vendor value. Good call. Even if it's a poor item, I think it looked really weird to be worth $0 when Caterpie is $100.

I find it a bit annoying that I need atleast 50% energy to attack someone, but I can be attacked when I am at 0% energy. With no way to defend myself. Shouldn't there be an alert that you are being attacked? Sitting there doing my gym training and then all of a sudden I am in the hospital with no warning, other then an event message that I was mugged.

Does Training in the gym give you exp? and if not, why not?

If people just train in the gym the whole time they will be very strong and be able to easily take on anyone they meet. An example is...a level 1 who can beat up a level 6, although the level 6 is a higher level, the level 1 person didn't do missions and instead trained in the gym

I have already lowered the beneifts of Gym training. Expect Gym training to go away once I get the Pokemon system working properly.

In essence you will take a captured Pokemon and go through a "bonding" proccess to make it your personal Pokemon. Once this occurs Gym training will revolve around increasing the Pokemon's EVs which will increase its overall power.

I will also be introducing an "Honor" system. This system will add a 'hidden' stat that tracks how honorable you are. Some missions will add to this while others will remove it. Some missions will only be available to players of a given honor range.

And I agree with Buzz about the frustration of the way you just magically appear in the hospital. I think it'd be cool if, when you are actually online and playing when someone attacks you, you can actually fight back. Like, the other person attacks once, you get a notification, then it's your turn to attack, and the other person can't attack till you get to defend yourself. Or maybe even escape. But if you're offline, you're free game. Like your character is napping or something. :-P

But since I don't know much about game coding (I only do websites), I dunno how difficult that would be... It's just really annoying to be attacked and not even know it, and suddenly you're hospitalized.

I think it's just a space filler. You can't go to jail for that Mission, so I guess the "Jail?" message means that the Bug Catcher reported you, but you didn't get convicted...or something like that.

Pretty much.
There are a couple others that you can get...one where you're beaten by the kid, and one where he sees you coming and runs away (I think).

This would bring in a code I have seen. Where it's an actual battle, where the person being attacked actually responds, not has a CPU do their fighting. Of course right now, we only have options to use like one weapon, but if Steve wants to get hardcore with the battles, we can have dodge options, ect for the pokemon.

Is that because of a stat of my own, or did Pidgey get changed? (Because it didn't used to miss so much.)

Edit: happened again. Their pidgey never missed but mine is missing over and over. Besides that, I have 0 health but am not in the hospital. Is that supposed to happen?

Yeah it did that to me when I was battling Ash Ketchum. Every once in a while it would hit but by the end I won.

I just went through the code and there are two types of EXP. One is set in the back end as CrimeXP while the other is money/8. When I made the job zero money it also became 0XP. Not yet sure what CrimeXP does...

You can go to the sidebar->explore->statistics departement->user list

Then click on the person that you want to attack to get to their profile, and there will be an option that says attack. You can then use one of your equiped items to attack them with.

I am not liking the new changes to missions. Heck Will gets ate up and you cannot do anything. Gym training eats a lot of Will and that leaves mission % low.

Curious as well to when I can do more missions. Luckily I got my Skarmory right before the change.

Also, does anyone know what the best way to get more dishonor points or whatever so that I can get the Skarmory mission? Should I keep going to jail trying to get that darn Bulbasaur, or should I do the easy missions at the top?

Dishonor points are set when a mission is created. Figure about 3 points per bravery spent.

Kay, I beat up that kid, it seemed to reward pretty many Dishonor points :) Then Eevee's are good to get to Advanced Agent crimes. One word of note, though: When you do too many crimes, you can only do Advanced Agents! (Been there, done that ^^).

I like having more options, but the problem with having only 'Advanced' crimes available is that it is frustrating to wait for BP to recover after a failed mission :lol: my BP count is 53 and the minimum mission cost for me is 20.

I just think that it's helpful because i just put you in the hospital, but then you can help me out of jail XD But yeah, that doesn't really make sense unless the hospital beds are right outside of the jail bars...

Possibly because we bought houses? Houses give you a bigger will bar.

The higher your Will (based on your house) and your level the easier the jobs get.

I'm working on hacking the code to display the actual percentage before you attempt a mission.

I think the higher level missions will get you there faster. Steve is the only guy who knows for sure.

So my advice would be to make sure you use the Gym to boost your Labor status a bit. If not, well continue at it I guess.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, but the descriptions on things in this game are so fuzzy I wouldn't doubt if it meant unlocking new missions. I caught a Bulbasaur, yet have yet to raid the trainers backpack and can see up to Skarmory so it was just a theory since I put effort into my labor. *shrugs*

The labor, I think, is only for the paying jobs.:p I don't see why you need labor to do a mission.:confused:

Just a quick question. What is max on level and stats? The game has been going for what like 3 days now and there is a player almost to level 100 already? If you can load up in 3 days, what is left after that? Just more missions? Bashing seems a bit of a waste if the levels are so unbalanced. Bobreeder cannot bash anyone but NPC's.

Maybe I am just old an old Ultima Trainer that thinks leveling up in a short amount of time takes away from a huge of the game. Unless leveling up does not factor in much.

I am now level 101, and no hard level cap yet, and no soft cap either from what I've seen with my EXP. Stats are well over 1k each, so no cap yet there either. Will keep you updated. I level slowly now, though, so it will take some time (each Snorlax gives around 0.5% <.<). And it does get pretty boring only beating up NPC's, but in War time you thrive at high level, as you have too much HP to be beaten by most players.

The poffin shop will likely be removed or made more expensive once the beta period ends. Right now most jobs give you $1K per bravery point spent. You can then go to the poffin shop and restore bravery points for $1K each.

I wanted to put some speed into the game to test out higher level game play.

I already have some re-writes for the early Team Rocket missions and the fast growth is no longer there. Expect to gain two or three levels a day at lower levels and then one a day a higher levels.

EXP has been updated and the new formula is:

(21+(level+1)*11)

When you level up excess EXP is tossed out and you go back to zero.

So, to get to level 2 you would need:

(21+((1+1)*11)) OR 21+22=43.

Each level costs 11 more points than the previous one.

Going from level 10 to level 11 would cost (21+(12*11) or 153 EXP.

You can change your own game name. The account name stays the same, but what people see can be changed.

@Amos - The stats of your player affect the cost of training the stats of your pokemon. Also, the stats of labour, strength, and IQ also affect what kind of job you can have. Hope this helps! :)

Well I like the option for crimes to have specialized missions; maybe there can be some of both good and bad so the gang could be for the greater good of people, or a trouble making gang.
Of course there's always the benefits of feeling like a team.
Maybe tournaments or something? Hmm... That is a good question, what to do with gangs. I bet there's some good stuff out there for them though. :)

I really like Kay's idea, Karma would definatly make this game worth playing, depending on your karma, it could decide what kind of missions you do, your friends and foes, even what house and gang you could be in. If you get really complex you could create bonous karma missions where you can straight up chose between good or bad, which in turn could benift something in particular (example: get lowered prices at a shop, rare pokemon ect.)

I added the honor system as a form of karma. Currently all Team Rocket missions give you negative honor. Once the good missions arrive I will give players the option of reseting their honor and being good guys.

More Tiers show up as you gain levels.

Your Pokemon can be evolved as you level them up via training in the Pokemon Farm area of the game.

I have just adjusted HP to be more inline with the other stats. It now begins at 100 and gains 2 points per level. I also adjusted the EXP requirements slightly upward.

I am also investigating the point recharge rates compared to cost/benefit of points spent. Most point games have you regain one point every five minutes. One of the reasons everyone is advancing so quickly is that in about an hour all of your points are recharged!

If you have not picked anything you are set for Will to recharge faster. If you are unsure just refresh your page when on a 3 or 5 minute interval.

If you refresh at *:03,6,9,11,etc you will see which one recharges fastest.

I agree that it's by no means going to turn common Pokemon into a gold mine, since inevitably supply will exceed demand in most cases. But it would be nice if players could usefully get rid of their unwanted Pokemon in some fashion. Perhaps selling them to a vendor could be an option, as you used to be able to do when Pokemon were inventory items.

Frankly, I'm OK with simply releasing mine if the Pokemon market is not going to be re-implemented anytime soon; I'd just like to ascertain whether or not there are plans for that to happen. I mean, if I can expect to eventually profit from my unwanted Pokemon, great; if not, cleaning up my big list of owned Pokemon is its own reward. :D

Okay, that makes sense. Didn't read anything about it on the TR site itself so I was afraid I was overlooking something. I really need to make forum searching a second nature habit.

And I don't have a shiny on TR as of yet. Long story short, I wrote a story involving a breeder who couldn't get her young Vulpix to gain it's coat colour... so everyone thought she was a horrible person (the trainer/breeders affection is supposed to factor into their tail and fur colour growth if I remember all those flavor text correctly.) I kinda associate myself with the breeder due to frustration.
You could say it was a bad attempt at sprucing my question up with a bit of roleplay. (Though I'd love to have a white vulpix, but even if shiny it won't become white/silver until it evolves into Ninetails. =| )

you can check them in the Farm now. If they ahave a yellow background, they are shiny :)

I can't seem to find this anywhere, how does the training for EVs work? Does 1 training session = 4 EVs or 1 EV? How many EVs can a Poké have, 510? Using vitamins, is it still 10 a stat?

There are a few times I have added vitamins and like the first 4 I see no change and like the 5th and 6th will add a stat point. My main Poké currently has like 650+ hours on all it's stats for training.

Just trying to figure out the best way to train and not sure if it is exactly like the real game or how the EVs are added.

EVs from battles would be a pain since we really don't have control over what we are battling.

Yeah and like 4+ hours to train for 4 EVs? Wow that will take forever to train up a Poké. Not to mention the price. I don't notice much change from gaining Agility, Strength, Guard, and whatever in the gyms. I still don't see what the point is for having stats that high for your trainer. If your trainer has a strengrh of over 1,000, who needs a Poké?
