Poké Academy: Project 1 * Semester 3

After losing track of how many actual semesters the Poké Academy has done, I figured we would start at Semester 3.

For our first assignment we ask that each student make a farm. You will come up with a name for your farm and then a small writeup of why you chose that name. For bonus points you can then write a small background story about your farm.

I would suggest looking at other farms for ideas.

Most farms have stories if you dig threw old threads, but here is a nice one to look at.

Almost forgot, this project technically starts Monday the 20th of July and ends Sunday the 26th of July.

The first banner in my signature which says "Haven's Mysteries" is a link to my fan fiction and the first post, is the story of how I made my farm.

If you have a farm already then you already have a name, so PM it and then tell me(us) how the name came about and for the bonus give a background story. The initial PM will be sent to me and I will look it over and make notes and pass it to the other board members to let them add their notes and thoughts. I figure this is the best way to keep me from being to tough on grading.

If you want to hint at a first event that is entirely up to you. Mainly looking for a name and how you got the name. You can write anything for the background for extra credit.

Let me see now if I can get this grading done right. Going from the results I have collected. For your farm name/description you can score a 1-5, 1 being the worse and 5 being the best. I take the average number submitted by the board. For the background story you can get a bonus of 1-3 points.

A lot of hard work and imagination went into these stories. It was hard to pick my favorite. And please don't take any low numbers as your stories or ideas were poor. It is very hard to grade writing and give points for imagination and thought. When you dig into spelling, grammar, and structure, well that all varies from age to age. Also anyone that did not get a high score on farm description, it is not that the name of your farm was poor, some of the descriptions left us wondering, huh? Which at times it is very hard to explain fully to someone else why you chose this name or why you like this over that.

Take my Boxer's name, CaJa. Most people just look at me and say why? Well it is the first 2 letters in my son's name and daughter's name. Most people wondering why I would name my dog after my kids, I think it would be funny if I named my kids after the dog.

Sorry I will stop babbling on. Very nice stories from everyone.
