Should I take my vitamins?

Okay so everybody always talks about breeding high IV's and from my understanding vitamins boost your IV's....so am I to understand that a pokemon with really high IV's could not be given 10 of one vitamin. Or are the vitamins just adding on to the IV's they already have?


Bonus question!
Okay so if you have a ton of money to blow and you do give your pokemon 10 of each vitamin, does that mean that you don't have to worry about who you fight because they have already maxed out in their IV stats? Or would it still be beneficial to fight a bounch of garados or wigglytuffs?

Okay, I think you are confused between EVs and IVs. IVs are Individual Values that your pokemon are born with. They can not be changed. The maximum IV value is 31. Your IV Value is the stat boost your pokemon recieves when reaching level 100. For example, if your pokemon was born with an IV of 22 in Attack, when he reaches level 100, he will have an additional 22 points added to that Stat.

EV's you get when you battle specific pokemon....For example, battling a Zubat raises you 1 EV point in the Speed stat. Your pokemon may only recieve 100 EV's from vitamins per stat (10 each). After that you have to battle pokemon, to recieve EV's, each stat can have a maximun of 255 Ev's but each pokemon may only gain a total of 510 EVs. After that, your pokemon will no longer gain EVs in battle.

Okay so wait, I carry the 2...then divide the pi (rasberry) between my friends...and then...my head is spinning...I need to stop doing math while standing on my head.
