I was searching for how to get lugia, and i found this response on wikipedia answers:

"You need to get a Mystic Ticket. To do it, you have to do the Elite 4 ten times. Keep getting Oak's daughter to trim one Pokemon the same each time and she gets sick and she'll give you the Mystic Ticket to get either. Lugia is in FireRed and Ho-Oh is in Leaf Green. If it doesn't work, talk to your Mom 1212 times and she'll give you a ticket to get both."

I haven't really played the GBA versions much, so i don't know much about them, but does anyone know what it means when it says "Keep getting Oak's daughter to trim one Pokemon the same each time"?

also, does anyone know if you can actually get lugia or ho-oh this way?
(it sounds pretty fake to me...)

I don't know about those methods. I've never got either, but the way I understand it tickets were given out at nintendo events Serebii.net Reference (http://www.serebii.net/red_green/tickets.shtml). And it's also possible to get lugia from Pokemon XD and Ho-oh from Pokemon Colosseum. I believe some were also given out at events Another Serebii.net Reference (http://www.serebii.net/games/events-pkmn.shtml)

And if those other methods prove to be true let me know.

I think you have to go to Gary's house and get Daisy to treat your pokemon or something. But that's just bogus. You can only get the Mystic ticket from a Nintendo event.

yes, never believe a rumor that includes talking to someone or beating the elite four numerous times: it's just bogus, as Nak said.

Sadly, no. It's a really major downside for letting anybody edit and put stuff up whenever they want. And a lot of the stuff don't even give any sources. Even my teachers have banned us from using Wikipedia as a source for our papers, lol XD

I acquire my tickets from Nintendo in New York City.

The only "ticket only" Pokemon right now are Mew, Deoxsys and the three new unreleased guys. I think everyone else is available via a bonus disc (Jirachi USA and Celebi Japan) or via a Game Cube game.

I have read alot about these get this Pokemon the easy way. You know where they say at midnight on the 13th day of the 13th month while hopping on your left leg 15,000 times Shaymin will appear and lick your ear.

None of them ever show any proof, and the ones they have on youtube now are clearly the walk anywhere hack.

LMAO XD Sadly, you just might see somethinglike that in Wikipedia nowadays. Like this one dude was talking about an item called the "Magic Muffler" which leverls up your Pokemon by 90 levels or something. The very first instruction was to "Release all Pokemon except your weakest one. It's not a problem with me since all my Pokemon are at level 100." I was like, "Dude, are you on some friggin crack?" Hopefully no one actually fell for that stupid guy's lies.

wikipedia is actually a pretty reliable source for info online. i think the articles are usually moderated for incorrect matarial.
however, there are occasional errors and stupid things put in by them hooligan teenagers.

despite that, i find that wiki can often help me understand a subject better.

Wiki is in a nasty court battle over some of the stuff people have posted on their site. Some People posted rumors or something really dirty about a few celebrities and now the owners of the site are in court. But they did manage to move their offices to San Francisco.

Hate to burst youre bubble but you can't trade between the GBC Games, (Red,Blue,Yellow,Gold,Silver,Crystal) and the GBA/DS games.

And thats a bummer, since getting Lugia and Ho-Oh would be so much easier. But I guess they would lose their trade value <_< ...

For some reason I never liked using legendary.
I guess for me it just losses its role play value if there are Multiples of the supposed one of a kind Pokemon.

I was curious, is there a special cable required to connect to the GameCube, or just the regular data link cable?

there's a cable that is like a regular gba plug on one side, but on the other end, there is a plug to go into a gamecube controller slot.

here it is:

i think that's what you were asking about...
