In the biggest announcement for the PokeFarm League since the inception of the Zeppelin Gym, comes a long awaited change.
The 3 gyms outside of the "League Proper" now have a shiny badge for you to be able to obtain. There are a few twists here, so please pay attention.
http://www.iaza.com/work/091102C/Base4401933460-iaza.gifChrysalis Shiny Badge: In order to obtain this badge, you must beat the Chrysalis Gym Leader with a Self-Bred team (just like all other shiny badges) and the team must be all UU pokemon according to the PokeFarm official Tier list. ( http://forum.pokefarm.com/showthread.php?t=11291 )
http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w158/jhamin1/GeminiShinyBadge.gifGemini Shiny Badge: In order to obtain this badge, you must beat the Gemini Gym Leader with a Self-Bred team. (just like all other shiny badges)
http://www.iaza.com/work/091103C/base_1_true8593963701-iaza.gifHatchling Shiny Badge: In order to obtain this badge, you must beat the Hatchling Gym Leader with a Self-Bred team that is composed of 3 baby pokemon that is a member of a 3 stage pokemon family. (For example, a Bulbasaur, Pichu, and Piplup would qualify while a Horsea, Voltorb, and Ghastly would not because the Voltorb/Electrode is only 2 stages)
Best of luck to all battlers in obtaining these new badges!!

I have a question. I know what the obvious answer is, but I am just double checking.
The Hatchling Gym has rules about 1st stage Pokémon that are not allowed due mainly to the fact they just got a 2nd evo or pre-evo, so do any Pokés that just got a 3rd stage count for the shiny badge?
Mainly thinking, Elekid, Magby, Budew, Duskull, Swinub, Togepi, Rhyhorn, and Magnemite.
However the big question would lay on Snorunt. It has 2 evolutions, but it has more of a two 2nd stage evo then a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

Sorry for butting in but Snorunt would not count.
As it is a split evo. Snorunt splits to either. So you could not use it to get a shiny badge if I am right

It would be for the league to decide on it and since there was no mention in the post, that is why I was asking and that is why I pointed out the split evo.
Sorry if that sounds rude, just not sure how to word it. And it is not that your reply was not welcomed or is wrong, but the league has final say so any other answer would just be opinion right now.

Snorunt would not count as it is a basic poke that evolves into one of two stage 1 pokes.
another example is pichu. It is a baby poke that evolves into a basic poke which evolves into a stage 1 poke. There are 3 stages represented, therefore it would qualify.
eevee is another example that would not qualify, even though it has 7 evolutions, because all of the evolutions are only one level above eevee.
the other pokes that buzz mentioned would all be ok, even though the stage 2 evolutions were added later.

how about gastly ? just want to check why it is not counted as 3 stage evolution (gastly, haunter, gengar) ?
This would mean Abra is in the same category.

He said that team was not allowed as it has voltorb in it (Voltorb > Electrobe = 2)

So what you are looking for (just to help specify the wording on the rule) is:
A first evolution-stage Pokémon that has an evolution-stage chain of 3 (or more).
3 or more is kind of optional, because the maximum size of an evolution chain is currently 3. It's just to make the rule more future proof.

Just a note to clarify. In my examples I listed a team that would not qualify for the shiny badge.
Gastly, Horsea, Voltorb.
That team does not qualify for the shiny badge ONLY because of the voltorb. The other pokemon are fine. I just wanted you all to realize that all 3 pokemon must be the lowest stage of a 3 stage evolution chain in order to qualify for the shiny badge.

I have a small question, more in regards to breeding methods as opposed to directly about the new Shiny badges. I had a look around, (and even had someone else look around) but I couldn't find any information that specifically stated how Shiny badge distribution is decided, other than "a team of Pokemon bred and trained by yourself."
I breed all my Pokemon on my Diamond, but hatch and train them on my Platinum. Would that 'disqualify' me from getting a Shiny badge?
Sorry if its been answered elsewhere; I've looked around and couldn't really find anything to clarify this point, so I thought I'd ask.

To get a shiny badge, your pokemon all need to have the same ID. So if received the egg in the same game, then you should be good.

To add to that, they have to be bred in Gen IV (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum). You sadly can't breed them in Gen III (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed and LeafGreen) and use them to get the shiny badge.

that is correct. you can battle the gyms with them and win a regular badge as long as they are not hacked.
