I haven't had a battle yet and I'm not sure what to do. Could someone please walk me through it? Remember, I should've been a blonde:rolleyes:....
Didn't mean to insult anyone:)

It's pretty simple once you get the hang of it.

1. memorize or have a good idea of each type's weakness, and what pokemon are that type

2. part A: make sure you know what each ability does: that could settle the outcome of a battle! ex: gengar vs. camerupt. gengar has Levitate, which prevents ground-type moves from working. camerupt uses earthquake, but gengar WILL NOT BE AFFECTED

part B: BUT, if it were gengar vs. cranidos, cranidos would use earthquake, but because crani has Mold Breaker, so it WOULD affect gengar!

3. have nicely balanced types in your party

4. make sure your move sets have offensive and defensive moves.

5. hold items are lifesavers

thats pretty much it....pm me if you need more help

Thanks magma. When you are on wi-fi battle do you carry your bag and switch out just like when you play the game?

Nope, so you have to carefully plan out your team's hold items. But you can switch out unless if there other rules are applied for the battle you're in =3

You can't switch out from Wi-Fi battles? Then why is there a rule for Gym Leaders that they cannot switch out during battle, unless you use a move like U-Turn or Baton Pass? I thought my button to select my PokeBag was still there in battles. Now the Battle Tower I am pretty sure you can't use items there.

Celph77 posted this some time back, but here (http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/24412/t902199-neoseeker-diamond-pearl-tier-list-2007-round-3/) is a good post about the tiers each Pokemon falls into.

That is what the list is for. You don't have to remember all the tiers, just look them up before you battle and find out if your Pokemon fall into the tier the battle will use.

no uber means no legendary pokemon..
Not all Ubers are Legendaries and not all Legendaries are Ubers.

Wobbuffet not a Legendary, but is in the Uber Tier.
Azelf, Celebi, Cresselia, Heatran, Jirachi, Raikou, Regice, Shaymin, Suicune, Uxie, Zapdos, Articuno, Entei, Mesprit, Moltres, Regigigas, Regirock, and Registeel all Legendaries by game standards, but fall into the OverUsed or Borderline Tiers.

List? Where is the easiest place to find it when I need it? Do I just come back to this page , or is it somewhere else?

May i point out some correction.

In Wifi battles, you can switch to another pokemon from your party. The Gym Leaders here are the only ones who are not allowed to switch their pokemon as set rule.

your items that are in your bag will not be accessible. make sure you have your pokemon carry an item that you think may help during battle like berries for cure or Leftover/shellbell for HP recovery and any other item that could enhance your chance of winning.

Wifi battle and Battle Tower are similar except Wifi battles are not limited to 3 pokemons where Battle tower is only allowed 3 pokemon.

one of my fears when before i started battling over wifi was, what if my pokemon is not a level 50 yet or level 100 yet.

In wifi battle, you will be given a choice "Free battle, level 50 and Level 100, single or double"

Free battle is by far unfair because if you have level 41 and your opponent have level 56, they will remain as is.

Level 50, all pokemon regardless of it's level will be set to level 50 and their stat will adjust to level 50 as well except if you EV trained your pokemon, it will have an advantage.
Same with Level 100.

Single = one pokemon out at one time. Double battle = 2 pokemon out at one time.

Hope this helps.

Razor,Razor,Razor.....You are the Best!.How did you know that would be my next question? I guess being the oldest on this site, everyone wants to be extra nice(just in case I decide to punish)....I am now ready to study and prepare for battle...Thanks Razorbeam...I'm so glad that I found this site:)

Did you notice the ? after the sentence. Nak edited her post stating you could not switch and I was pointing it out. I believe I also stated that Gym Leaders could not switch unless you use a move like Baton Pass or U-Turn to do so. Only thing I was not sure on was the use items, I very rarely use them in normal game play so was unsure for PVP.
