Stars of achievement!

I was wondering that sense we have Gym Badges why don't we have Stars as well?

I mean a Star as an award for doing something exceptional.

Heres a list of what I came up with, feel free to post your own:

A Star for having a Farming Event.

A Star for getting all eight Badges.

A Star for reaching 100 rep points.

A Star for being recognized by a admin for adding to PokeFarm.

A star for receiving 10 or 20 Referrals from new members.

A star for wining at Nak's improvised Super Contest.

A star for 100 rep points. I think I lead in rep points and I have 34. I think if we added them for every 100 rep points, then people would just give them out with no real meaning for them. I can see maybe for the Gym badges, because come on people there are 8 Gyms and now some very active Gym Leaders and still very few challengers. The E3 say bring it to our Gyms.

I was one of the members here only for breeding and trading, but now I am a Gym Leader. I understand your point though.

I was thinking that it could be like in the game, just a way to show off how dedicated you are.
It would be up to Steve to give them any other value.

Gaining rep will give you more "stuff" on here. It is not easy to gain rep or give it out.

I have run other forums with vbulletin so I am acutely aware of the problems that can crop up with post counts and rep scores.

I prefer to ignore post counts and instead go by rep scores because they tend to be a better indication of a users involvement with the forum. You can increase your own post count by posting but there is nothing you can do about increasing your rep score except by posting good stuff that others like.

That is the reason I did not add "Star for # of posts" knowing that people would just spam for the Star.
An achievement can be anything that you wish it to be, all I did was give you examples.

I think the members are just getting really scared reading all your EV and IV stuff to battle for the Gym Badge.

I'm neutral to the Stars of Achievement. It does look good to have it.

You mean to see how many points you have? Go to User CP and it shows you how many you have. It should say Latest Reputation Recieved. If you see nothing, you have no points or have not received any points I should say.

I only meant one Star for 100 +rep points, not for each 100 points.

This was just an example I used because I wanted at lest five Stars like in the game.

Thats a great idea, its not exactly what I was thinking, but it could be allot better because of that.
