About a year ago I found this website.

What do you think of that?
Would anyone spend money on that?
And if you did, would you spend more or less then you do on Pokemon?
Thank you for reading my thread.

Depends on what you are after. These are no better than the liquidator swords & knives you can buy for $20. An authentic hand-crafted sword can cost upwards of $2,000.
I personally wouldn't spend the money on something like this. $30 - $50 for an engaging Pokemon game seems like money better spent.
Less of a chance to hurt yourself or someone else as well.

Yea, but think of what a cool conversation piece it would be.
Years after the battery's go out on your Pokemon game, you will still have your sword to show off.

I want these.

Icingdeath (http://www.trueswords.com/icingdeath-sword-drizzt-p-2821.html)
Don't know if any of you recognize them but they are the swords of Drizzt Do'Urden, from Forgotten Realms.
Of course I wouldn't pay that much for them. (I did find them at a good price once before)

I've always wanted to get trunks' sword, sephiroth's sword, and the buster sword for a long time. I was about 95% about to buy sephiroth's sword until i found out i couldn't fit the huge thing into the car, so i had to not buy it. :(

i have a few swords off of ebay. they're all factory made, but still look cool on my wall.
and they do make excellent conversation pieces.
they're also very nice for hurting people...omg, just kidding.
but i wouldn't say that they're a better buy then pokemon. with pokemon, there is a constant fun, but with a sword, you'll most likely just admire it for a week after you get it, and then put it on your wall and not really do much with it.

I read some of the books with Drizzt. Loved them and I think those would be cool to own.
I agree with the conversation piece thing, but that type of decoration only lasts so long. My wife wouldn't let me hang a sword any where in the house. Which wouldn't be so bad if it was a $20 sword, but if it was an authentic, that would be different. I would only pay for an authentic if I could afford more of a collection. I would die for authentic versions of both Conan swords.
Atlantean Sword (http://www.allmoviereplicas.com/store/product_detailed_images.php?productid=247) ~ $2700
Father's Sword (http://www.allmoviereplicas.com/store/product_detailed_images.php?productid=249) ~ $3300
I will settle for my (oops, my sons) Pokemon game.

An authentic version would be nice, but I think I would choke before I spent that kind of money on it. (and if I didn't choke then my wife would choke me)lol
Then again when I make my fortune on ebay i might think about it lol

Most everyone is saying how dangers the swords will be.
Did anyone look practice swords?
http://www.trueswords.com/practice-swords-c-69.html
I guess because I am such an seasonal Pokemon gamer that I tend to think of other things.
I tend to want to play Pokemon more over the Summer and less during the winter.
I think this winter will be different though.
