When I first started to checking out blogs for tips and info on Pokemon I started to notes something.
On all of the EV spreads was ether 252/252/4 or 252/252/6.

I want to know if that third number counts for much.
Would if be that much different if I chose to use an EV spread like these: 255/255?

Before I forget to ask, what happens when your Pokemon has 253 points in one EV and receives 4 more?

Does the EV count go up to 255? Or do the EV's get ignored altogether?

It's technically 252/252/6. The max EVs for one stat is 252, so going past that is a waste. Also of that extra 6, the extra 2 EVs are completely useless, that's why it's sometimes 252/252/4 instead. So just use the extra 4 EVs for a different stat altogether instead. =D

the max ev's for one stat is 255, but having 255 over 252 makes no difference as 255 isnt divisible by 4.. but i think u knew this and phrased it wrong :P

if you havent reached the total EV limit, it will go to 255 and the other 2 arent earned, if your at the limit then it cant gain any more ev's.

also,
theres no difference between 252/252/6 and 252/252/4 because 4 and 6 both give 1 extra stat.. (4 ev = 1 stat)

255/255 when divided by 4 equals 63.75, so you are basically wasting the 6 points. At the same time the leftover 6 will only give you 1 full point and 2 EVs are left over and really good for nothing.

Thank you all for reading my thread and answering my question.
It seem strange that they would make it count up to 508 but have a max of 510 points.

1 stat point isent going to make a difference. i just go to 255 in two stats and dont worry about the 1 point that im wasting but thats just me:wink:
