View Full Version : Final Fantasy
I am unsure if there is another thread about this, so if there is please don't get angry..
Anyways, I am a fan of the Final Fantasy series, and I haven't done the wifi function on FF III. I was wondering if anybody would like to help me out so I can get the onion knight job.
I am trying to get all of the Final Fantasy games not including different platforms.. I have a long way to go though. I only have
*FF III
*FF V
*FF VII
*FF X
*FF X-2
*FF XII
Please excuse me for listing something of uninportance. I am just like super bored :D. And yeah that is pretty much all. This thread can be used for any Final Fantasy talk I guess. Also, please try to help me in getting the Onion Knight ;]

ive played (and own) every final fantasy game, except the new one (XII i believe?) and i can safely say that they are getting :(:(:(:(..
IMO they are some of the best rpgs ever made.. but the new ones are just lame >.> all up to FFIIX are good.. FFIX was ok.. FFX blowed and FFX-2 was a remake/continue of a game that blowed.. so yes that sucked too :p
(well the new ones for PS suck :(:(:(.. final fantasy on gamecube wasnt too bad.. and i think the one for wii looks good)
i can help u get onion knight too.. but not yet :p

I'd be willing to give you a hand getting Onion Knight. I was planning on starting a new game on my copy, and I'd need someone to help me out getting Onion KNight in mine, so maybe we can help each other out?

Final Fantasy X owned. Blitzball baby. Final Fantasy X-2 I did not care for. Final Fanasty XII is a bit on edge with the new layouts of fighting and leveling, but the graphics are the best ever on a PS2. There are no bad Final Fantasy games, some that are low end for a Final Fantasy game, but they would still kill any game out there. I started at game one on the NES, weak as it was it laid the seed to grow the franchise. Man I wish I still owned all my FF games. Some are so hard to find now it is not funny. I wish I never got rid of my silver Tactics, game is worth like $200 bucks on Ebay now.
Duuuuude... I'm still working on FF V. It's like the story never ends... @_@ My friend has FF XII and it looks so cool! I wish i could play it sometime X3

FF XII had to be my least favorite, its not bad but not nearly as good as the other FFs. I agree with Buzz about FF X. Blitzball pwns, it should be an olympic event >=3....except for the whole drowning problem that us humans have.
But FFVIII was my favorite. Long live Zell!!!
Anywho, does anyone play FF XI and is it any good?
Because Im thinking about giving WoW a break and I need some MMORPG to fill the void ToT

I've also been a fan since the very first for the NES, and I have to admit that a lot of the later ones I haven't been as big a fan of. My favorite is probably VI, although when V finally came out I loved that one as well, it definitely has the best job/advancement system of all of them! It totally reminds me of the job system in Dragon Quest VII, which is one of my all-time favorite RPGs. Ultimately I think Dragon Quest is the better series, it's managed to stay much purer. So far I have 1 for the NES, I had II and III but lost them both in a fire, and now I have 1&2 for the GBA, III for the DS, IV, V and VI for the GBA, and I'm eagerly awaiting the DS remake of IV, which won't be out for a little while yet....I'm also really looking forward to DQ IX for the DS. Oh yeah, and I just got FFVII for the PC, man, I don't remember the graphics being that bad. I remember when it first came out, thinking the graphics were so amazing....

I am waiting for the Blitzball to have its own game. Tell me it would not sell millions if it was like the Blitzball in X and not in X-2.

I'd still like to work with someone on Final Fantasy III, sending/receiving the necessary letters through Mognet, if anyone's interested. Soon as I get my FC and what-not for it, i'll post it here, I want to re-open Onion Knight (just started a new game) and I'd also like to help anyone else who wants the Onion Knight job - I know from past experience just how dang hard it is to find people who will send the required posts!!

Wow, I take it Final Fantasy III for the DS is nothing like the original Final Fantasy III for the Super NES?

its FFIII brought to the 21st century :P
I've only really had two FF experiances. Ones was Crystal Chronicles, which I quite enjoyed, and the other was Advent Children. (The Movie) The fight scenes are brilliant.

BugCatcher - the SNES game Final Fantasy III is actually the North American port of the Japanese game Final Fantasy VI. For whatever reason, when they were bringing the games over here, they decided not to port Final Fantasy II or III (both were for the Nintendo Famicom), and when they did Final Fantasy IV (Super Famicom), since we didn't have II or III, they had to renumber FFIV as FFII. After that, V was skipped, and when VI was ported, that became FFIII here. In recent years, all of the games have been remade in one form or another using the original numbering system - FFI & II have been released for the GBA as "Final Fantasy I & II - Dawn of Souls", III was released for the DS, and IV, V and VI were done for the GBA as well. Currently, an enhanced remake of FFIV is in the works for the DS, and it will have similar graphics and what-not as the DS version of III. No North American release date has been announced yet, though...

Off topic, but I said the other day to someone that I wished they would make a ds version of dragon warrior monsters. Today I saw that Dragon Warrior Monsters will be released November 6th. Nintendo loves me.

Personally, I'm really lookiing forward to Dragon Quest IX, which is being developed for the DS! Apparently it will have some kind of multi-player capability, where you can play the main game with some of your friends. I've also heard that, in Japan at least, they're developing remakes of Dragon Quest IV, V, and VI for the DS as well. I've only played V and VI as fan-subbed ROMs, so needless to say I'm really hoping those are brought over here as well!!

I played the first dragon warrior monsters and lived it, by the time the second one had came out I was busy with something else and did not get to play it. This ds version looks great graphics wise.
I just did a search for it on gamestop and it shows it is called Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker. It comes out November 6th, but I swear the game on tv was Dragon Warrior Monsters: Alex or something with an A name. Now I am confused, but it says you can breed over 200 different monsters.

I've never played any of the Dragon Quest Monsters games, but they look pretty good and I've always heard that they are a lot of fun. I just might have to check out this new DS version once it arrives!

What it has on Gamestop (http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=B180440A) looks awesome. I know I heard Dragon Warrior Monsters: Alex or some name that started with an A on tv.

Did some reading, Dragon Quest is the Japanese version of our Dragon Warrior, so it sometimes gets released under either name in the states.

Dragon Warrior and Dragon Quest are the same games. When Dragon Quest was first introduced here, there was already a paper-and-dice RPG by TSR or someone named Dragon Quest, so Enix renamed the series Dragon Warrior for over here. The last game to actually be called Dragon Warrior is Dragon Warrior VII. Starting with VIII, SquareEnix was able to get hold of the rights to the name Dragon Quest here, so now all the games will be called by their proper name, Dragon Quest. Seems like there's also a Wii game coming out, Dragon Quests Swords or something like that?

yeah the Wii game will come with a sword shaped controller that you swing to battle ingame. Man I need to get a Wii he-he. The new fishing game Hooked for the Wii comes with a rod and reel controller. They need to make a horseshoes and darts game, something like the redneck olympics and I would be hooked.

Yes you do need to get a Wii :D :D I love it. I have always been a big Playstation fan and bought the Wii instead and have not had any regrets. Of course I'm also protesting PS3's price and the fact that my PS2 only lasted a couple of years before I had to buy another one.
I remember playing the old dragon warrior for the NES. Don't think I've played any of the new ones though. But the one I saw the commercial for looks to good to pass up. :-D
