Knowing your pokemon's weaknesses and all of the pokemon, period, are a good idea. I'm still learning some of the newer pokemon >.< And you should definitely give that battle tier thread in the battle section a look. It's got a list of some of the best pokemon around. There's so many things you can do and look at it's difficult to just point one thing out. For example:
Good IV's
Good EV's
Good Move sets
Good Stats
What kind of move sets
Type of pokemon and their weakness
Combo moves (example: Hypnosis/Dream Eater)
If you have a team your working on, you can always post that up and have people critique it and analyze it for you. :D

Thanks. I have a dratini I got in a trade. What do you think is a good moveset for it and what evs should I train it in? And also the same thing for my chinchou and larvitor. They are all level 1.:-D

Hmmm.............that'd take me some time to come up with, but the best way to look at all possible moves to put into a pokemon would be serebii.net. Lemme give you a link to the dratini page........ Dratini's Page (http://serebii.net/pokedex-dp/147.shtml)
And pretty much, you just go to serebii.net, then click on home page, then go to the right, and under the different sections, you go to the first section, Serebii.net, and then go down to where it says D/P Pokedex and pick out which pokemon you are looking for, and it'll break down just about everything for you, giving you all the possible move lists for any pokemon you desire from diamond/pearl. ^_^

No probs. If you ever got a question about moves/pokemon, there is plenty of help here. ^o^ I'm not sure what kind of team your going for, so i couldn't give you a definite answer. >.<
And besides, i'm still a work in progress with movesets myself...........

I agree with everything said above. One point I can't stress enough is please EV train your Pokemon, without EVs it is like going into a war with no gun. Yeah you are there and on the field, but it will always end the same.

I've been ev training my weavile in speed. It's going pretty good but I only have 50. Unfortunately I have probaly lost 50 because I train when I'm supposed to be asleep then I'll fall asleep and my game will die and I lose all of those evs. A really good ev speed spot is using the vs. seeker on fisher man andrew and you get 6 evs from him.:-D
Yeah, EV can get pretty boring, lol.

Do you have Pokerus and/ or Macho Brace? It will make ev Training go much faster.

I can give you a pokerus pokemon, and you can get the macho brace by showing a guy in Pastoria City all three forms of Burmy

Awesome thanks. How do you pass pokerus on, how do you keep it from being healed, and does it double the amount of evs you get?

To spread it have the pokemon in your party, enter a battle, and the pokemon beside it have (I think) a 1/3 chance. I'm not sure if it needs to be the lead pokemon or not, I always have it as the lead.
Pokerus is no longer able to spread after 24 hours, but if you put the pokemon in your box it will retain it's ability to spread. I always keep a couple of pokemon infected (just in case I forget and leave one out.)
And yes it doubles the amount of EV's.

Kool. When can I trade you for one?:-D

I heard that the fastest or easiest way to spread the virus is to have the infected Pokemon in your last slot and the Pokemon you want to infect in the second to last slot. Then just do a couple battles and you second to last Pokemon should be infected...
Hey Maddi, I have an extra Macho Brace if you still need one =D

Ya could I have it? Do you need anything?
Question: After pokerus can't spread does your pokemon still get the extra evs in battle?:-D
Thanks for all of the help.:-D
@ Maddi: Yes, it will still be 2x the EVs. And we'll continue trading those TMs. I'll let a Pokerus pokemon hold the Macho Brace too. Be sure to put it in your PC before 24 hrs! See you on WiFi =D

Learn Something new everyday. :(:(:(:(. I probaly have so many extra evs because I thought that the effect from pokerus wore off. Oh well. I don't think it's to many evs.
@Nak- See you on wifi.
