Also i think decorating the forums around holidays would be cool. like having a christmas/hannukah look on the forums next month and turkeys and other thanksgivin stuff this month. let me know if you agree.

Nak and I already have a thread like this going in the Moderators section I believe. Good to see wwe are not the only ones with ideas for Tournament and contest sub-forums. The only problem I have with warstories is, Smogon has a thread for Warstories. I was planning on starting something similar in my Gym, but I want to come up with a new name for the thread instead of Warstories.

RMT is another Smogon thread, but one I feel belongs on any website about Pokemon.

I wonder if one of our regional art dealers can make up some ♂ and ♀ symbols about the size of the badges, 15x16 pixels I believe. If you can get the images made 9 times out of 10 Steve will put them in. You could make the symbols appear somewhere near the Gym Badges, that would mean we could belong to a boys or girls group he-he.

Hmm. I right clicked on your beacon Gym badge and went to properties. That's where I found it.

Oh I just went and checked some other Badges and they are all different sizes.

It looks like the widest are the Icicle and Relic badge at 18
And the highest is the Beacon at 21

If it is in your Gym or Farm you can do as I do, set the redirect to expire in 1 day. You can go back in a manage it and reselect the expire time I think.

They are left behind until the forum is cleaned or pruning if I remember right. I know Steve does not like the deleting of post to much. I usually create an archives thread and close it and let it fade away he-he.

As a moderator can't you Physically Remove threads so that they are completely deleted from the system?
If they serve no purpose for you (and regular members sure can't see them), why leave them there?

I think that ther should be more tounements for inexperienced battlers like sure pretty much anyone can beat the pokemon league even tho it took me like 20 tries and a friends help in training my pokes but when i battle poeple who are good im out in a sec the last few battles ive done i one by luck and or by using legends or ubers ok i was just plain better by battling someone who just got palkia and i already finished beat the battle tower a few times.

I like that idea, but one thing; how do we know who is one the same levels of battling? I wish we could find a legit way to keep a record of everyone's wins and losses. We could have the Gym leaders rank the people they have faced, but that could lead to hurting peoples feelings. I think the best way to start learning better battle tactics would be to battle more and try new things. I swear half the teams I face in the Beacon Gym have the same Pokemon and I know how to beat them. It is the teams that mix it up that give me fits. I battle FatherGoblin today and he had 2 Pokemon that I battle constantly and the other 4 threw me for a loop. I know I won the battle, but it was 1 - 0 and I had to figure out ways around his defensive team. He scouted my team by reading my Field Journals. His team was perfect counter for most of my team. I saw 2 things that let him down. His one Pokemon, if it was EV'd trained a bit different and not his starting Pokemon, it would have lasted longer then 2 hits. His second weak spot was his Sableye. I am going to name the Pokemon here, because we both felt it was misplaced on the team. Sableye offers a tremendous type resistance, but lacks that certain mojo that is need in a competitive battle. I did not ask but I believe his Sableye may have had Stall as it's ability, not a good ability for a Pokemon like Sableye. Sableye could compete in lower tiers, but to get it competitive in Borderline and Over-Used tiers, it needs to be an IV beast and EV'd to perfection.

Alot of teams that come threw the Gym are lacking alot of basics to make a team successful. The new age of D/P has made the meta game even more offensive then it was with the Advance generation. That does not mean that a good setup Pokemon is not needed. Baton Passers and Annoyers, Hazers and Supporters, and Walls and Sweepers. My team has the basic build, but it is not the best build for a team. I sat my Baton Passer on the bench only because people brought nothing but firepower to the battles. My baton Passer was designed to boost my Serene, but having a Baton Passer that only boost one Pokemon is not idea. So I went with a combination Starter. I mixed Annoyer, Wall, and Sweeper. I know that any Pokemon capable of being a Wall and a Sweeper is usually called a Tank, but I list all 3 separately for my Spatter. Spatter very rarely does all 3 in one battle. She may Wall and Annoy or Sweep and Annoy all depending on what my opponent throws at her.

Spatter has shocked me as well. I never thought she would perform the way she has. You know when I was discussing my team and trying to figure out what I wanted to do, I was told not to use Spatter.

What I mean is, why let us pair you up when you can look at a members list and select a member to make your new friend? You see a member posting and think I would like to get to know them better and you can just PM them and start the process. Trust me if we paired people up you could get paired up with me and nobody wants that. I am bossy and sometimes rude and that is with the people I do like.

What I think would be neat would be for the elite four. Instead of letting everyone know who they are, you would be contacted by the first of the four to set up a battle. Someone could monitor the progress of the members who have earned the required badges and contact the first and alert them to the status of a member who has qualified. The people who have earned them would be required to keep the secrecy of the elite four members they battle. This way its kinda mysterious and keeps you on your toes when your summoned to battle by they higher ups. Plus it would allow the elite four to be in a constant fluid state, not knowing which of the four we would be battling as well as the types that we would be facing right off the bat. This way, it would really be a test of your team.

Now, I don't know how the elite four will be run but this would be something fun to see. Just a thought.

I have seen alot of post from each Gym as to what their status is. I just wrote an entire post of how long I will be taking a break for. The way it is suppose to work and it never does because people don't read the rules is, You apply for a Gym, the Gym Leader checks his request, The Gym leader PMs you, you set up a battle, and then you battle. It is people PMing before the gym leader even gets a chance to see your request or PMs being sent without even requesting to join that throws the system out of whack.

If the Gym leader does not get back to you within 3 days, then drop them a PM. Atleast allow the system to update the request, which is like 15 seconds, before you PM a Gym Leader about battling. I am thinking of the next person that PMs me about a gym battle and they have not even requested to join yet, will not get a gym battle until they serve a 2 week period.

Atleast read the rules before PMing. I am going to start denying battles to people that don't read the rules. Most Gyms are 100% more organized then the Gyms were when the system first started. With the exception of maybe 2 Gyms, all are open. We now currently have WCN and myself taking a break. After 50 battles I am tired and I want to try new Pokemon out on my team. So I guess maybe 4 Gyms are not active, but at some point some of the Gyms will need a change and people will have to be patient and wait for those changes.

I did not have to give battles yesterday and today. I am trying to get my farm event finished, I am trying to breed new Gym Pokemon, I am trying to EV train, I am trying to spend family time, I am trying to sleep, and I am trying to do this all as quickly as I can. I spent from 3 AM to 6 AM yesterday Moderating the forum. I showered from 6:30 AM to 6:45 AM. I went to a job farm from 7:00 AM to 10 AM. Went Christmas shopping with my family from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. I battled from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM. I traded Pokemon from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Watched a movie with my family from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. More MOD work from 10:30 PM to 12:00 AM. Turned down a battle at 12:10 AM because I was going to bed. Woke at 8:00 AM and logged into PokeFarm to find a PM blasting me for not battling.

9:45 AM to 10:20 AM more battles. Rest of the day spent breeding and making Gingerbread Men with my son. Got back on site at 3:00 PM. Got a PM for a battle so I put away my eggs and got my Gym team. 3:02 PM got a PM yelling at me for not being on wi-fi fast enough. 3:10 PM starting beating down the impatient challenger. 3:13 PM finished battle and put my Pokes to bed.


Does anyone else see the 36 hours with like 7 total hours of sleep between 3 days. So yeah getting comments about why Gym leaders don't battle more or report when we are accepting battles or whatever it is we are not doing right kinda gets under my skin.

My Gym team was built in 7 days. Challengers that lose have 7 days to rebuild for the next challenge, while I am still battling. I roughly have 2 hours a day to breed, IV check, test, and train. It can roughly take days to breed for the right nature, ability, and IVs. It only takes at most an hour to record and check the IVs of 30 Pokemon. Testing your move-set and tweaking them can take 30 minutes to 3 days. EV training can take anywhere from 1-5 hours depending on your spread and your methods.

Sorry, like I said I am having a bad end to a real crappy week. A few battles this weekend really pushing my buttons, and those were in battles I won.

I would like to give a big congratulations to puffdaddy, belnumcree, and Death By Bronzong for giving me great battles this weekend. You guys earned those badges. I know I have said this before, but hands down the match belnumcree gave me was by far the most challenging and calculated match I have ever been a part of. You played your team to perfection. My jaw is still laying on the floor from that Focus Sash. I was on my 2nd to last Pokemon and I knew my benched Pokemon could not sweep the rest of your team. I saw that HP of yours falling and then stop at 1 HP, my jaw dropped and I knew I was D.O.A. I have never seen a Focus Sashed Pokemon that late in a battle.

I think that all of them are doing a wonderful job....I think that if I was a player that wanted to battle 24/7 and the gyms were down, I'd just battle somewhere else until they were open again.....

No infractions for what you said. It was clean and done tastefully. I can't say someone might not give you negative reputation points, but no infractions can come of that comment.

Also I know I may be taking it to personally, but when I bust my ascot to be as active as possible here and then hear someone contradict that, yeah I get a little nuts.

That is why most of the first Gym leaders quit. They had personal lives and trying to keep up with the gym was alot of work. Some quit and others were removed because they could not keep up. I have to say Nak, razorbeam, WestCoastNinja, and myself are the most active Gym Leaders since celph77. The other Gym leaders that we currently have, have had their real lives holding them up a bit, but they keep going. I know Nak has school right now. I believe razorbeam had some connection problems. I believe RYU is having school workload overload right now. I believe Jake024 is also a school student. As far as SoronRocket, I don't know the case there, but I bet it is something real life. I don't pry into other peoples private life so I am not sure what goes on in the Icicle Gym.


I know our Gym Leaders are always looking for a battle. Scheduling is the way to get your battle. If we had a sticky thread saying we will be battling today at 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and you come online at 3:15 PM, then the announce did nothing for you. I think people want us to post, we will be battling Thursday at 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM please be there. Not only can our plans change by then, but how fair is that to people in other timezones and can't be online at our 3:00 PM. That is why scheduling a battle is better then announcing when we will be battling.

That is why my Gym has a Calendar in the Tome of Enlightenment thread. I can put your scheduled battle right in there and you can check to see it if you need a reminder. I would hate to think my calender is a waste of time.

I would like to give a big congratulations to puffdaddy, belnumcree, and Death By Bronzong for giving me great battles this weekend. You guys earned those badges. I know I have said this before, but hands down the match belnumcree gave me was by far the most challenging and calculated match I have ever been a part of. You played your team to perfection. My jaw is still laying on the floor from that Focus Sash. I was on my 2nd to last Pokemon and I knew my benched Pokemon could not sweep the rest of your team. I saw that HP of yours falling and then stop at 1 HP, my jaw dropped and I knew I was D.O.A. I have never seen a Focus Sashed Pokemon that late in a battle.

I thank you for your comments. After talking with puffdaddy the last few days, I have a great deal of respect for you and him. You both not only bring a unique battle style to the Gym battles, but a great attitude as well. So many other sites for Pokemon have people that are great battlers, but poor humans. If you find pleasure into degrading someone that you just beat in a video game battle, then I can only imagine what kinda human being they must be.

I love that about this site. I had to learn to be a bit more graceful when I lost, but that is the natural competitor in me. As in my real life, I don't like when people are better then me at something. It makes me work harder until I am the best. It drove me at work to be the best. I just went back to work after a serious car accident and feared I would not be able to do it. For the short time I have been back, I still don't think there is anyone better. Sure I slowed a few steps, but the guys that were hired to replace me, can't touch me. Now I have my neck problem and I will once again have to prove myself to my work, but more importantly to myself. I had people from work and I mean from the top of the line to the newest member of the company, that why would I come back. My reply, I had to prove to myself I could still do it and that I was not just a handicap. Sure I walk with a limp, lost feeling in my left arm, bulging disc in my neck, and a few other problems, but my heart and my pride are intake.

Would it be possible to distinguish which gym leader you earned your given badge from? Maybe even have multiples from the same gym?

Lets say you earned your Beacon Badge when NikolaTesla was around. If you hovered over the badge you could see Beacon Badge (NikolaTesla) or Beacon Badge (BugCatcher6) depending on when you earned it. Possibly two badges showing you faced both and won but distinguished with a different hover tag associated with it showing who you won against.

This way it would make it a bit more fun to try and re-earn a badge knowing that you can
A) show you have been around long enough to see different gym
leaders and
B) show that you can win multiple times against different sets of
pokes.

I think that would require the admins/mods to create a user group each time a new Gym Leader is chosen -- this would create a differentiation between the badges. If the admin is cool with that, I guess it would be kind of cool.
