This thread will be just like the War stories you see on other sites. This will be my first attempt at doing a war story or as in my Gym's case, a Field Journal. So sit back and let me tell you a tale.

From the start I know I have a serious problem, I can’t hit his starter hard with any of my attacks, what to do.

Buzz * Spatter uses Confuse Ray (HP 100%)
Nagib_253 * Pokemon 1 eats a Lum Berry and uses Stealth Rock. (HP 100%)
Well Scouted from our last battle, but Lum Berry only last one time.

Buzz * Spatter uses Confuse Ray (HP 100%)
Nagib_253 * Pokemon 1 hurts himself (HP 89%)
That’s why I don’t like one use berries for status problems, but in this case nagib still got off his Stealth Rock, which sucks for me.

Buzz * Spatter uses Surf (HP 100%)
Pokemon 1 loses 72% of its health
Nagib_253 * Pokemon 1 uses Explosion (HP 0%)
Spatter loses 440% of its health (HP 0%)
Man KO’d by a confused Pokemon, good move on his behalf, last battle he was confused and he beat himself, this time he sacrificed himself to take out my Pokemon. Sometimes sacrificing is worth it.

Buzz sends out Garbage Garbage takes 12.5% damage from Stealth Rock. (HP 88%)
Nagib_253 sends out Pokemon 2 (HP 100%)
This round scared me. His Pokemon had me I thought Speed wise, but it resisted like half of my attacks as well.

I was shocked that my attack hit that hard, but the Sword Dance scared me.

Garbage is hit for Super Effective damage loses 70% of its health.
I knew this was coming and I just hoped I was not one hit KO’d. Still can’t believe my Garbage is faster.

I figured I had the Speed advantage go ahead and attack. After I chose my attack I thought dang what if he had a quick attack.

Another Pokemon my Garbage has no attack advantage over, plus now I am only at 22% HP.

Buzz * Garbage uses Milk Drink (HP 35%)
Garbage recovers 50% of its health.

Garbage loses 33% of its health and loses accuracy.
Man Healed well, but took more damage then I would have liked.

Taking almost as much damage as I am healing, that is never good unless you are just stalling.

Garbage loses 30% of its health and loses accuracy.
I know I was losing this round, but I wanted to drag it out and use up as much Earthquake as I could.

Garbage recovers 50% of its health.

Garbage loses 31% of its health and loses accuracy.
I lose more accuracy, but still dragging out the battle in hopes of setting up another Pokemon.

Garbage recovers 50% of its health.

Garbage loses 27% of its health and loses accuracy.
Gained some more HP this round, but dang that accuracy.

Garbage’s attack misses

Accuracy problems again, but I got Earthquake down another PP.

Garbage recovers 50% of its health.

Garbage loses 29% of its health and loses accuracy.
Building that HP back slowly, but my accuracy took another hit. I wonder how much stalling is too much stalling.

Garbage loses 24% of its health and loses accuracy.
Wow Muddy Water hit low that time, but accuracy fell again. I am just now thinking maybe he is holding Wide Lens maybe even a Zoom Lens. I should have been trying to figure out his held item earlier in the battle.

Garbage loses 42% of its health
Man low on HP again, but there goes another Earthquake. I can’t believe Ice Beam is still hitting, but I wish the Freeze would take effect.

Garbage loses 29% of its health and loses accuracy.
Stall some more. I wish he would use up that Earthquake.

Earthquake, I really want him to use this move up.

I am still going to stall and hope he makes a mistake.

Same thing as last round, I am hoping to get him frustrated and get his mind wondering onto other things beside the battle.

Dang got his HP under 50% and he recovers, but one more Earthquake down. Still wish Ice Beam would have frozen him.

One last desperate attempt to freeze him, plus drinking all that milk gave me a stomach ache.

Big risk here, his Pokemon can one hit KO me, but I have a super effective move on my Pokemon.

Buzz * Ling Ling uses Grass Knot, it is Super Effective. (HP 88%)
Pokemon 3 loses 75% of its health.
Nagib_253 * Pokemon 3 Fainted
I got the KO, but possible set myself up to be KO’d quickly the next round.

This Pokemon truly scares me, but atleast it can’t one hit me.

Ling Ling is asleep.
I knew I was going to take a nap, but I was thinking this Pokemon had another strategy so I used wish to drag the battle out and hope I woke up. I should have just attacked as hard as I could in hopes of a miracle.

Ling Ling’s Wish came true.
Man I did not think wish would kick in this fast. Also not the tactics I thought this Pokemon would have.

Nagib_253 * Pokemon 4 uses Nightmare. (HP 100%)
Ling Ling is locked in a Nightmare.
Ling Ling loses 25% of its health.
I wish that Wish did not go into effect until this round. I was thinking nagib’s Pokemon was geared to drag the battle out, so I had an early wake up on my mind.

Ling Ling loses 80% of its HP.
Ling Ling Fainted.
I guess after setting up, he just did not want to run the risk that I would wake up and he just finished me.

Buzz sends out Snipe. Snipe takes 25% damage from Stealth Rock. (HP 75%)
Nagib_253 keeps out Pokemon 4 (HP 100%)
Not the Pokemon I wanted to send out with Stealth Rock floating around, but this Pokemon is just so powerful.

Buzz * Snipe uses Brave Bird. Snipe loses 1/3 of its health. (HP 50%)
Pokemon 4 loses 104% of its health.
Nagib_253 * Pokemon 4 faints. (HP 0%)
A one hit KO and less HP for me.

Buzz keeps out Snipe. (HP 50%)
Nagib_253 sends out Pokemon 5. (HP 100%)
This Pokemon I have learned to defeat pretty easily, but it still scares me.

Buzz * Snipe uses Brave Bird. Snipe loses 1/3 of its health. (HP 30%)
Pokemon 5 loses 31%% of its health.
Nagib_253 * Pokemon 5 uses Stone Edge is Super Effective. (HP 69%)
Snipe loses 95% of its health.
Snipe faints.
I was not expecting this attack, but it was a perfect choice for this battle. I had another move that would have taken a lot of Pokemon 5’s HP, but I was praying for another one hit KO he-he.

Buzz sends out Watts. Watts takes 12.5% damage from Stealth Rock. (HP 88%)
Nagib_253 keeps out Pokemon 5. (HP 69%)
Not the matchup I wanted, but I was hoping that my Pokemon was faster.

Buzz * Watts uses Ice Punch. It is Super Effective (HP 88%)
Pokemon 5 loses 148% of its HP.
Nagib_253 * Pokemon 5 faints. (HP 0%)
I got lucky and my Speed was higher. I know my Pokemon can dish out huge damage, but Speed is always an issue.

When I saw Pokemon 6 it really made me nervous. It could take out the rest of my team. I prayed one final time that my Pokemon had the Speed advantage.

Pokemon 6 loses 156% of its HP.
Nagib_253 * Pokemon 6 faints. (HP 0%)
I had the Speed advantage and my nerves have calmed.

Seriously this match was so close. I don’t think I have ever seen a battle between to completely different teams, which were so closely matched in battle.

juaco sends out Pokemon 1. (HP 100%)
I knew this Pokemon was coming out first, there was a connection problem and this match started over. So I had an attack he was x4 damage to.

Buzz* Watts uses Fire Punch. (HP 100%)
Super Effective Pokemon 1 loses 84% of its HP.
juaco* Pokemon 1 eats Sitrus Berry and uses Stealth Rock. (51%)
Man I had attack type advantage, but Pokemon 1 had super defense and a Sitrus Berry, good combo.

Buzz* Watts uses Fire Punch. (HP 100%)
Super Effective Pokemon 1 loses 90% of its HP.
juaco* Pokemon 1 faints.
Move hit harder that time, but the damage was done by Stealth Rock being laid out.

Buzz keeps out Watts. (HP 100%)
juaco sends out Pokemon 2. (HP 100%)
juaco sends out a Pokemon I fear more then any other that has came to my gym. I figured he would be holding Zoom Lens to increase the accuracy, so I should move first.

Buzz* Watts uses Thunder Punch. (HP 100%)
Pokemon 2 loses 58% of its HP.
juaco* Pokemon 2 uses Hypnosis. (HP 42%)
Dang I hate that move, but I like the fact I was guaranteed to attack first since he was holding Zoom Lens, well could have been Wide Lens and I was just faster.

Buzz* Watts uses Thunder Punch. (HP 57%)
Watts is asleep.
juaco* Pokemon 2 uses Dream Eater. (HP 57%)
Watts loses 43% of its health
Pokemon 2 recovers 15% of its health
This is what drives me nuts, not only am I asleep but he is regaining HP.

Watts woke up.
Pokemon 2 loses 58% of its HP
juaco* Pokemon 2 faints
Double the luck there, woke early from sleep and hit hard enough to have 1% overkill damage.

I smiled when juaco sent out this Pokemon. I am seeing him more in my Gym which is shocking.

I don’t know what to say here, it was a good Pokemon, but it was brought in at the wrong time.

Major over kill, but I thought I would do a bit more damage to Pokemon 4. His Defense must be super.

Buzz sends out Spatter. Floating Rocks dug into Spatter. A sandstorm rages. (HP 82%)
Spatter loses 12% of its HP.
Spatter loses 6% of its HP.
juaco keeps out Pokemon 4. (HP 42%)
Stealth Rock hurts you before you get to do anything.

Buzz* Spatter uses Surf. A sandstorm rages. (HP 76%)
Spatter loses 6% of its HP.
Super Effective Pokemon 4 loses 61% of its HP.
juaco* Pokemon 4 faints
Type advantage, not much damage due to sandstorm still blowing and I hate that the sandstorm is still raging.

Has anyone else noticed I lost 30% of my HP without even being attacked yet.

Spatter loses 6% of its HP.
Pokemon eats a Yache Berry.
Super Effective Pokemon 5 loses 48% of its HP.
juaco* Pokemon 5 uses Leaf Storm. (HP 52%)
Super Effective Spatter loses 95% of its HP.
Spatter faints.
Saved by a berry and killing with Leaf Storm, I never saw that coming.

Buzz sends out Garbage. Floating Rocks dug into Garbage. A sandstorm rages. (HP 88%)
Garbage loses 12% of its HP.
Garbage loses 6% of its HP.
Garbage regains 6% of its HP from Leftovers.
juaco keeps out Pokemon 5. (HP 42%)
Leftovers gave me back what the sandstorm took away. Really annoying losing HP before you start. Good tactics by juaco.

Super Effective Pokemon 5 loses 51% of its HP.

Garbage regains 6% of its HP from Leftovers.
Wow even with the Defense bonus from the sandstorm, I managed to take him down. Leftovers negating the sandstorm damage, which is always a chance when trying to use weather damage.

Garbage regains 6% of its HP from Leftovers.
juaco sends out Gileb. (HP 100%)
I saw his final Pokemon and thought I had the battle wrapped up, but juaco had other plans.

Buzz* Garbage uses Ice Beam. A sandstorm rages. (HP 32%)
Garbage loses 6% of its HP.
Pokemon eats a Yache Berry.
Super Effective Gileb loses 28% of its HP.
juaco* Gileb uses Draco Meteor. (HP 72%)
Garbage loses 62% of its HP.
Garbage regains 6% of its HP from Leftovers.
A 28% Super Effective attack, with the berry and the sandstorm still going damaging the last couple of Pokemon was difficult.

Buzz* Garbage uses Ice Beam. A sandstorm rages. (HP 26%)
Garbage loses 6% of its HP.
Super Effective Gileb loses 48% of its HP.
juaco* Gileb uses Crunch. (HP 28%)
Garbage loses 26% of its HP.
Garbage faints.
Now that I added the damages up, 26% HP left and 26% damage done, I was thinking upset.

Buzz sends out Snipe. Floating Rocks dug into Snipe. A sandstorm rages. (HP 69%)
Snipe loses 25% of its HP.
Snipe loses 6% of its HP.
juaco keeps out Gileb. (HP 28%)
I had to bite the bullet and bring in a quick and strong Pokemon, even if it meant taking huge damage from Stealth Rock.

Buzz* Snipe uses Close Combat. A sandstorm rages. (HP 63%)
Snipe loses 6% of its HP.
Gileb loses 30% of its HP.
Snipe regains 4% of its HP from Shell Bell.
juaco* Gileb faints
I was so glad that I still had enough power to overcome the sandstorm Defense increase.

Seriously juaco is getting better with every battle, and he now has a themed team to battle with. He just needs to practice with his team and work on using Stealth Rock and Sandstorm to his advantage.

What lesson did I learn from this? I learned I hate Stealth Rock. I also learned that Sandstorm is very much a battle turner. Even though juaco did not win, his Sandstorm made it difficult for me to win.
