You have to look at it as, Breloom has 130 base attack and only 70 speed. Attack is already killer, so why not make it faster to kill quicker.

i didn't choose the nature. it was the first shroshroom i had. i have a lonely natured one now but all that training.............

well i think you just got lucky then if you were not trying to get adamant. thats one of the best natures for an attacker.

Not so much a patience as a dedication. I check all my Pokemon's IVs. I save good ones and trade or give away the bad, in most cases. You don't always need 2 great parents to start, you don't always need the parents to be the same Pokemon type, you do need them both to have some decent IVs to start. Trading alot can help bring in good IV Pokemon, most players don't bother with IVs so they can trade their good ones aways without knowing it.

Collecting Ditto is the best way to get started. I have Ditto with 30 Attack IV, 30 Defense IV, 31 Sp. Atk IV, and 30 Speed IV. Not all on one Ditto of course. I will start by using one of them to breed with another Pokemon with good IVs or sometimes with Pokemon I can't get with good IVs on. The best is starting with lets say a Ditto with 30 Attack IV and a Breloom with 30 Attack IV. Breeding them together would give us a 51.563% or a 1 in 2 eggs chance of getting babies with 30 Attack IVs. But if I already have a Breloom with 30 Attack IVs why would I need to rebreed it. 2 reasons, 1 being Nature you want the correct nature. The 2nd reason is known as RNG or Random Number Generator. Every Pokemon has it's IVs selected at random and then 3 are taken from the parents at random. So you can luck into having a second IV turn out great. The same Breloom with the 51.563% or a 1 in 2 eggs chance of having 30 Attack IVs, now has a chance of 0.957%, or 1 in 105 eggs of picking up a random IV of 31, but that % is actually a little higher when you figure in that 30 would also be acceptable.
