I was just wondering with so many new members getting infractions and then replying to the infraction with a PM saying, sorry I am new I did not know. We have an FAQ and this little guide. I heard in a PM that people don't like to read the FAQ because who wants to read all that info. Well I did when I came here. If you don't take the time to learn the rules, then don't be surprised when you get an infraction. So to the new members that think I am mean or unfriendly, post here and let me know why. Post here to let us know what is unclear in the FAQ. Sorry if this sounds mean, but there are very little infractions that make it past me. I don't sleep. I have no friends when it comes to giving infractions. If you think that reading the FAQs is a waste of time, I will see you soon.

Hey everyone, didn't notice this thread when I joined up, but still guess Im a new member. I noticed a few threads in other chatz where people were saying hello, but thought I'd post my hello here, instead of a zillion people making new threads just for hellos.
So, I'm from Australia, my favourite pokemon is Jolteon, and I'm trying my hand at breeding for IVs to build a team before I try battling any of you awesome trainers around here.

Trust me, if I give an infraction there is no arguing it. If you read the FAQ then you would know Rule #1: The GM Is Always Right.

A bit of advice I would give to all new members is, read the FAQ and any rules posted in each section of the forum. Getting infractions is not the way to start out.

well, i recently joined the site as well. already read the rules and FAQ. standard stuff. after beating the E4 on the game and exploring Stark Mt. there isn't much else do to on the game, so I'd figure that I try my hand at beating the gym leaders here and breed some pokemon on my own. I've learned loads already and there is still much to learn about all of this. Looks like this is the right place to learn all there is about pokemon. :D

To learn everything possible about breeding, it takes 2 months, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I know that is how I learned he-he.

Heh-heh, wow a giant sticky saying Welcome New Members and I missed it :rolleyes: Well I joined up around the beginning of janurary(missed the Jirachi event:sad: but I managed to dig up some old trades in the General trade section(Got a legit Lugia, Now I don't have to go through XD!) and checked out all the farms. Now I've been into dragons like, what?, all my life basically, and thought, hmmm, I don't see any dragon farms, I think I'll start one! So one the 6th of Janurary I got one going, and It hasn't had a ton of popularity, but really enough to keep me going, and its really fun to try forever(larvitar's took like 2 weeks!) to get a really awesome moveset and then see people take those pokemon and raise them really well, its pretty satisfying. I have learned a lot here so far, like if you give someone a Bidoof that knows, say, Rock Smash 4 times it won't be amazingly popular, and that you actually need to work mega hard O_o(Hard work, my worst enemy) to breed an awesome poke. Now I haven't even started on IV's, and I'm just reading into EVs now. I plan on challenging the Forest Gym soon with a team of Dragons, And I'll see how that works out. It seems like pokefarm is a really nice site, and community. Everyone here doesn't try to rip someone off, or be mean at all, everyone's really funny and great! There's just so many things about pokemon that I had ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE about! omg! look, there's how they came up with absol's name ABSOLutely...wow...learn something new ALL the timeO-O! So basically I'm a real chatterbox. I could probably type an entire essay(or more) into one post. Though I'm kind of ticked that I wasn't nominated wfor most good-looking member, I mean, who would be able to defeat these gorgeous looks?:rolleyes::lol:

but I never traded with you… I don't think you should have done that. If you click on the scales in the top right of my post you can do almost the same thing except it does not have to do with trading. (it increases my reputation points)

I think there are about 3 things you will find that will help you fit in here and go a long way.

#1, don't cheat or hack.
#2, helping others without rewards.
#3, learn the rules.

Basically don't trade hacked Pokemon, Don't do something expecting items, Pokemon, reputation points, or anything else special for doing so, and learning the rules will keep your infractions down and believe it or not, most of the members here care about running an infraction free site.


Just a side note, I have the highest reputation points of anyone on the site. I have a total of 248 reputation points. That is 2 points away from the next tier level and 114 points above the member in 2nd place. Out of 248 reputation points, I had to ask for 0 of them. I did things that helped others and I expected nothing in return. I know saying this is a shameless plug for me, yeah me, but I try to help whenever I can. I am sure if you look around you will see my work.

I don't want to seem like I am bragging, but this story is does have a point kinda. When I started PokéFarm I thought cool I can get free Pokemon and not have to work for it. Well one day while trying to score free items, I had a member, Cherkat, give me the items without asking for anything in return. I was shocked and thought maybe I could get more items. I asked and there was Cherkat again. This time though she asked if I had a certain Pokemon, I forget which one now, but I had it and figured what the heck. She sent a PM saying how awesome it was that I had the Pokemon she needed. I started thinking, I got some pretty high end items and she is going nuts over a Pokemon. So I did some thinking and I decided I would try to breed something that would give everyone a Pokemon that is hard to obtain right away. I bred Spiritombs and there was Cherkat waiting. Well from that day on I decided I would try to help whenever I could. I put all my free time into studying Pokemon and how everything works. I have wrote guides here and made collections of works that have helped alot of members. With all the work the put into, Steve saw fit to make me a Gym Leader, then a Moderator, and finally Administrator. I worked my way from give me free stuff, to giver of stuff, to a Gym Leader, Moderator, Administrator, and a friend to alot of the members. I am proud of all I have done here, but I am more proud of the friends that I made and how they helped me get to this spot. Some helped by giving me info, some helped by giving me items, and some helped by asking me questions. Questions I search the internet until I found the answers to.

Moral of the story, you get out what you put in.

Hey there, I'm SpaceMonkeySteve. I've noticed that you have an admin that goes by Steve, so you can just call me Space or SMS or whatever else floats your boat. I found this place trying to find some information about the rumored upcoming Darkrai event. (People say they've seen a poster, but I haven't found any pictures, go figure.) At any rate, I went to several different sites, and this one seemed to catch my eye: Semi-Casual Battling, a lot of Breeding experience, and a friendly atmosphere. I haven't been a member of many forums, but I am an admin on a Megaman.EXE roleplaying board. (If anyone's interesting in joining, you can PM me for a link.) Let's just say the other forums I've been a member of were either semi-short lived, or hate-pits. At any rate, I've been playing Pokemon since Blue. I'd say that my favorite game of all is Gold, but I really have liked the D/P games, as well.

I've just recently moved for college, and I have been pretty bored in my downtime between classes. The aforementioned Megaman site, which only has about half as many members as here, can only keep me entertained for so long a day, so I think it's time for me to branch out a bit, and meet some new people. I'm looking forward to learning some new stuff about breeding, chaining, and battling.

Well traditionally Gengar, Pikachu and Magmar have been favs. There are so many excellent pokemon in Diamond and Pearl though. I've been playing alot with Luxray. I bred it with Ice Fang, Fire Fang, Thunder Fang, and Take Down. It now has Thunder and Crunch. Another core team member I have grown quite attached to is Roserade. I was never much of a grass type person before I started using one.

Basically anything with good egg moves and evolutions!

The breeding is just marvelous to get something to do after completing the game. And the IVs are not really that hard, but it is an alien concept when you have played the games without knowing it, and thinking your Empoleon beats everything...wait, its highest IV is just 14! But if you wanna let me have a shot at teaching, just PM me :-) I am FAR FROM an expert, but I know the basics...

Hi! I just found your site, and whoa! Pretty neat. I am really looking forward to meeting fellow breeders. I am a novice, at best, but looks like this is the place to learn. I have to admit that I already have learned more reading a couple of forums here, than a year of pestering friends for advice and know-how.

I started playing pokemon with Pearl, then was addicted. I worked my way backwards with Emerald, then Firered, then Crystal. My latest project was breeding adamant intimidating Growlithe just because. I am only seven short of a complete dex, not including the not-gettable legendaries, and I hate people who say to use an AR!!!! Call me a purist.

So, in short, thank you for being here. You are appreciated!

Those are some helpful links, Pikachu (is that what you're called?). I may try to get into IV breeding when I get around to catching a bunch of Ditto. It's always been kind of disappointing to plug in the stats of my favorite Pokémon in IV calculators and find out how low they really are. :-P

My name is Natalya. (NUH-TAL-YUH) people call me Nutella like the food..haha. I found this site thanks to my friend Kenzie, although I think I forgot to say she referred me..oh well:) Anyway, I love pokemon, and I look forward to battling everyone soon :twisted:
I noticed that another new member did this and he got to know people very fast, so thats why I am doing it! Kenzie is one of my best friends, so usually I will be on at her house. My new DS is in the mail cause I special ordered it....Im 19 years old and Im in college, I know Kenzie from volleyball. Anyway....My favorite pokemon is Espeon, and I plan on breeding some very soon...if thats possible..it will be my first try, so we'll see:D I think this place looks really cool and you people seem unusually nice...haha thats a good thing! Also, if there is anything I should know...tell me, I read the rules, but sometimes you know there are things that you dont learn untill you do it, or someone tells you, so feel free to send me a message if I did something bad.

So thats about it...Im very friendly so feel free to talk to me...I wont bite! At least not all the time...haha jk
