Hi peoples, i know wat EV's are but wat are IV's

Hmm, how should I put this? IV's are like extra points, lol. They are predetermined when you receive an egg from the daycare or when you encounter a wild pokemon. Every pokemon has IV's in each stat ranging from 0-31. 0 being the worst and 31 being the best. IV's add one extra stat point to the stat that its in, so if a pokemon has 31 IV's in HP, he will have 31 more HP than a pokemon with 0 IV's in HP.

Hope that helped :-D.

um since we're talking about IVs I was wondering if it is possible to have 31 IVs in each stat. That would create an ultimate pokemon.

The odds of getting a 6x 31 IV Pokemon is 0%, unless your parents have,

1 Parent has HP, ATK, and DEF IV 31
1 Parent has SP.ATK, SP.DEF, and SPD IV 31
your chance then would be 1 in 467,658 eggs.

if you had
1 Parent has HP & ATK IV 31
1 Parent has SP.ATK & SP.DEF IV 31
your chance then would be 1 in 2,360,910 eggs.

if you had
1 Parent has HP IV 31
1 Parent has SP.ATK IV 31
your chance then would be 1 in 473,709,629 eggs.

if your had
1 Parent with 31 IV in ATK, SP.ATK, SP.DEF, OR SPD.
! Parent with 31 IV in ATK, SP.ATK, SP.DEF, OR SPD.
as long as they were not the same stat you would have 1 in 82,174,120 eggs chance.

Having a 31 IV in HP or DEF makes it harder since these 2 IVs have a smaller chance to pass to the babies.

Happy Breeding.

It's pretty straight forward:
Fill in your pokemon
Fill in its nature
Fill in its current stats
Fill in its current level
Click calculate
It gives you a % accuracy, but the closer you are to lvl100 the more accurate the calculator is.

the best way to use it for new people is to get your nice fresh hatched egg and go find a friend who can do a wifi lvl 100 battle with you

before you go into battle note you pokemons nature
in the battle your pokemon will be lvl 100 so note all its stats
now fill in all the details on the calculator and it will tell you what iv's your pokemon has. you can then decide wether to level up and train that pokemon or wither to release it and start again. Its agood idea to do this in batchs of 6 pokemon if your looking to find certain iv's for breeding and training. Ive just started doing this and im iv'ing 30 pokemon ata time to find what im after.

Ideally you do want to have about 30 Pokemon, especially if you were breeding. 30 Pokemon will give you the best chance to pass on the IVs from the parents on atleast 2 offspring, but if your parents have the same IV like both have 30 Attack, this increases your chance to 1 in every 2 eggs of the offspring have 30 Attack IVs. Nice chances and with you hatching 30 eggs that is about 15 offspring with the 30 ATK IV and leaves a good chance to have some of those to receive a nice RNG or Random Number Generator boost and make those Pokemon even better.

My calculator is from the same person that created about 90% of the other sites IV Calculator, so they all would be the same.

Out of curiosity, are IV calculators 100% accurate at level 100?

from what i can gather they are

Actually all IV calculators are off. Yes that is true. IV calculators tell you 0-31 in IVs and the game does not use 0-31 in figuring stats. But the 0-31 scales is as close as it can be without to much error.

:)

If folks are having problems wrapping their heads around IVs now, imagine if they had to do them in Hexidecimal.
