Tournament Sub-Forum Poll [Archive]

Do you think that now that there is a sub-forum for tournaments, that we need to keep them stickied? I would like to keep the stickied area free for rules or maybe a tier thread. Please give me feedback and vote so we can get sub-forum setup.

Wow a pretty even split so far. Can anyone that voted yes or no for that matter add a post and comment why it should be the way you voted? I just don't see why they should be stickied.

I believe giving them their own sub-forum, you can seperate tournaments from normal battles, AND see where the rules are at in the mess that is the battle section. I don't see the need to sticky EVERY tournament, especially with the rapid growth of tournaments within just this month, eventually there will be floods of them. Best to organize them now, while they are not as many than regret not doing it sooner. We can save the stickies for rules and actual announcements, and keep the battle section cleaner, and make things easier to find. :) That's just my opinion, i would have replied sooner to this, but yeah, homework, which i'm still working on *runs away*

yea, i strongly agree w/ gamegeezer, and he has a very good point, there probably will be alot of tournys in the future, we should sticky them is wat i say, but still hav room for the other very cool stuff:)

See that is just it. There will be nothing but Tournaments in this sub-forum. I plan on finishing my PokeFarm Battle Tier and maybe making a general rules to go by, but rules for battles are just a helper for someone making a tournament, each battle or tournament would have whatever rules it wanted. What would be the point to offer a Battle Tier or Basic Rules Idea and have them stickied, if the tournaments were also stickied?

I find it odd that the ones that are voting no they should be unstickied, are the same members that are posting the tournaments. If the people holding the tournaments agree they should be unstickied, why are the participants of those tournaments wanting them to stay stickied?

I may have to make another poll to explain this poll he-he.

My thoughts on it.

If we have a member who could devote the time to be a "Tournament Director", they could have one post set up with a link to all current tournaments.

The individuals creating/hosting the tournaments would be responsible for alerting the director through PM when they are starting a new tourney or if they have multiple threads for their tourney.

example:

Winter Tourney- Hosted by WCN

Brackets- Not yet announced

I think that we should only have a Sticky for Rules, Tiers, and Contest Hall (it has the rules + announcements). To stay current, we can just have a Sticky bulletin thread containing the links to the latest tournaments.

You have to sticky the Contest Hall don't you :-D. But I agree that only the rules and tiers really need to be stickied since they are the most important.

But no, seriously. The only tournaments that should be stickied are the ones that will be used again and again, like the Contest hall, The Enchanted Barn, and The Wishing Well.

And if I could ever finish up some other projects I wouldn't mind maintaining the Tournament list.

Last call for votes and comments. I will be closing the polls soon and it looks like I will unsticky the threads soon. I would also like to start work on a battles rules thread and make up some common ground rules. Also would you guys like the battle tier thread moved to the tournament sub-forum or left in the main battle forum? Just posting a yes or no for that one since this poll is for something else.
