See through August 19th through the 23rd, and then August 26th through the 30th, the people who created Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl will be trading their Japanese Pysduck for an American Ponyta.

But be warned: Many other people will try to take your ponyta...

Ok:

1. Deposit your Ponyta to the GTS during the trading period. On the GTS, deposit Ponyta, then choose Psyduck as the Pokémon you are seeking, then choose no preference for gender and level!

2. Now sit back and wait to see if the trade will be successful! 90 Psyducks (30 from each of the 3 creaters) will be traded on the GTS in 10 days, so there are plenty of chances for you to get one of their Pokémon!


About the rare pokemon info:

Any chance somebody could PM me about what's going on, as well as if it looks like the second event (not the ponyta/psyduck one) will be US only.

As I live on that tiny island in the middle of nowhere that nintendo tend to forget about (I think they probably put UK on the mew "envelope" as a mistake; I suspect they meant US :D ), our Nintendo magazine doesn't contain anything about that, so I can't go and research it myself :(

There's nothing special about them at all. They're exactly the same as any psyduck you could catch in your own version. The thing that makes them special is because they have been caught and traded to you by one of three senior people who developed the pokemon games.

You'd better stock up on your Ponyta, 'cos throughout the next two weeks, you can place it up on the GTS for the chance of picking up a Psyduck owned by one of 3 of the game's creators. Junichi Masuda, the Director of GAMEFREAK (and also the guy credited with coming up with Hoenn and an assload of awesome music tracks), whose favourite Pokemon is Psyduck is looking to give his away along with Ken Sugimori (The artist that draws every piece of official art for the games and directs the design of all the Pokemon) and Shigeki Morimoto (the battle director for Ruby/Sapphire onwards) for an American Ponyta put up onto the GTS.

From August 19th (yesterday >_>') to the 23rd and again from the 26th to the 30th, putting up a Ponyta to the GTS and searching for a Psyduck of no preference Gender or Level can yield you one of 90 Psyduck available over the trading period (30 from each) with their actual Trainer Name and IDs attached to it.

It's certainly worth it for bragging rights and trophy's sake, so if you can get a hold of one - go for it. There's no guarantee that you will pick up a Psyduck by these guys when putting your Ponyta up - and there are bound to be more jokesters trading Psyduck for Ponyta over the next fortnight to catch people out, so keep trying and just keep an eye out to the Trainer name and IDs to make sure you've got a legit Psyduck.

I have to feel bad for the people who have posted their shiny ponyta and high level ones. I saw a level 60 and was going to trade a psyduck but I thought that unfair. Within seconds it was gone anyway.

Such a horrid double edged sword.
