How can you tell if you are doing the right ev training? To make it simple....Say I bred a pokemon and I've been doing battles to get good ev's...Is there a chart somewhere that gives an average range as to where your pokemon should be? I've been spending all my brain cells (what little I have) on breeding, but now I want to train a team for battles.....
Please help me ......:D

This is my Battle Pokémon Bible.
Smogon University (http://www.smogon.com:81/dp/pokemon/)
I highly recommend this over all others. On Serebii when they do their Pokémon of the week or month thing, I know they copy from Smogon.

All the smogon links are broken.

They are rebuilding their site, but the link I provided still works and lets you look at the Pokemon and their suggested move-sets and EVs.

In the serebii.net d/p pokedex, there is a chart at the bottom of each entry. It will show you the minimum-maximum values for any stat for that pokemon at level 50 and 100. Keep in mind to keep the nature in mind when doing this.
For example (since you seem to like Gardevoir):
Lets say you have a Modest natured Gardevoir at Lv. 50
Its max HP is 175
Max attack is 105 (Hindering Nature)
Max Defense is 117 (Neutral Nature)
Max Sp atk is 194 (Beneficial Nature)
Max Sp def is 167 (Neutral Nature)
Max Speed is 132 (Neutral Nature)
The high value usually means with perfect IVs, the low means with atrocious IVs. An easy to check your stats at level 100 is to do a DS Wi-Fi Lv. 100 all battle, go to summary, and copy the stats for each pokemon.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, but could you explain the "Hindering Nature", "Neutral", and "Beneficial"?
Just started the training thing and already found (at least) a dozen new gray hairs....
Take Timid nature, for example. Timid boosts Speed (beneficial) and reduces Attack (hindering). And it's neutral towards all other stats. Hope that helped. =D

Can I find a list somewhere? Maybe serebii?

Yeah, serebii has a list.
Most natures boost one stat and lower one stat, although some don't modify any stats.
The idea of natures is to boost something you're good at, and decrease something that doesn't matter. For example, a Ninjask would have an adament nature (+attack, -special attack), because it doesn't use special attacks. That is why people tend not to put physical and special attacks on the same pokemon. For any pokemon, breed until you get one with a nature that adds to your most important, or most needed stat, that is a minus to whatever type of attack you don't use.
You can find a list of natures on serebii's game mechanics page.
If you're having trouble picking a nature for a pokemon, try looking on smogon for advice.
Here's a tip, by the way. If you want to get a pokemon with a desired nature quickly, breed a male of that pokemon (the male should have any moves you want to pass on) with a ditto that has the nature you want the baby to have. Make the ditto hold an everstone, and you will have a 50% chance of getting the nature of the ditto.
Example: I want a Timid (+ speed, - attack) alakazam. I breed a male alakazam and a timid ditto (everstone equipped to the ditto), and I will likely get a timid abra.
The everstone trick works on any female pokemon (in the above example, ditto takes on the role of the female).

Thanks DBB (your user name is way too long ;))
It takes me a while to take in all this new info.....I have the breeding thing down (pretty much), but I just needed to understand the nature thing....
Thanks for the help...:)

There is a Natures list here. So you want to be a Master Breeder - Natures (http://forum.pokefarm.com/showthread.php?t=1615post#7)
I really need to make my own chart instead of using that old one.
