View Full Version : Porygon Breeding Question

So I am trying to breed a good porygon. I know that porygon can only breed with a ditto to produce new offspring. My question is, how in the world do you get it to pass down natures (if possible)? I have both a timid ditto and and timid porygon both holding everstone. I have now bred 18 of these guys and have only one timid porygon to show for it. Does anyone know if this just a coincidence in that I am extremely unlucky and should pack up the DS for the night or if this is one of the annoyances with breeding porygon/non-sexed pokes?

I have searched around here and haven't seen it so I figured I would ask before it drives me nuts...hehe...hoho...haha.

OMG, I'm having the worst time trying to pass down Timid nature as well right now >w< You'd think a Pokemon who's meant to have that nature would easily pass it down, but noooooooooooooo... =w= But does that mean a Timid Ditto + Timid female both holding an Everstone make your chances of getting a Timid egg boosted up to 100% O_o

No, Im sure the highest you can get is a 50% chance cause when normally breeding if both the male and female hold an everstone and have the same nature, you don't get a 100%.

It has to be something with the fact that neither is technically a "male" or "female" so maybe the programming which signifies when an everstone is present to up the nature retention isn't there. I have reduced to one everstone on just porygon (since my ditto is timid as well) and still have not had any luck. So far my breeding is up to around 35-40ish and only one timid has come out of it, the very FIRST one.

Maybe someone who done something else like a bronzong or something has also run into this problem. But I don't see why we should be having this much trouble with em. Hehe, sorry to say this, but I'm glad its not just me having this problem! :p

You know what would help? Maybe if you sit quietly and clear your mind of all negative energy & give your extra porygon to me, then a timid one will hatch. ;)

This is from our breeder's guide. So you want to be a Master Breeder (http://forum.pokefarm.com/showthread.php?t=1615).

Step 10: Compatibility.
After you deposit two Pokémon in the Day Care, the Day Care man will tell you their breeding compatibility.

“Ah, it’s you! Your [Pokemon A] and [Pokemon B] are doing fine.”

The man then tells you one of the following four phrases:

1. “The two prefer to play with other Pokémon than each other.”

This means one of the following four cases:
a) One or both parents cannot breed (is one of the Pokémon listed in Section 2).
b) They are from different egg groups.
c) You are breeding a genderless Pokémon with a Pokémon that is not Ditto.
d) You a breeding a male Pokémon with another male Pokémon, or a female Pokémon with another female Pokémon.

In this case, you will never receive an egg.

2. “They don’t seem to like each other much.”

This means that the Pokémon being bred are different but have the same trainer IDs. They have a low chance of breeding, but they will eventually breed, so don’t give up.

3. “The two seem to get along.”

This means either that the Pokémon being bred are the same Pokémon or have the same trainer IDs, or that they are different Pokémon having different trainer IDs. They have a moderate chance of breeding.

4. “The two seem to get along very well.”

This means that the Pokémon being bred are the same Pokémon having different trainer IDs. They have a high chance of breeding.

Note: By “same Pokémon” meaning two Pokémon of the same species and the same evolution form, for example Rattata + Rattata, Chinchou + Chinchou, etc. By “different Pokémon” meaning two different species of Pokémon or two Pokémon of different evolution forms, for example Raticate + Vulpix or Ninetales + Arcanine.

Shows why sometimes Pokemon can be more difficult to breed then others.
