Pokefarm Lagging

Is it just us PSP users, or is it really Pokefarm? It lagged once when I was on a school PC, and Geezer is having issues as well. So what's going on? =S

I get problems too, and sometimes it just doesn't load at all. :(

I have no idea, but today when I tried to get on it took me about 15 tries before I actually was able to get on, and that was with a full connection, no cookies and my cache empty.

@Nak: I know, I thought ya'know maybe it was just this place and that if I went to the main site that I'd be able to get here, but that didn't work either. I ended up just turning off and on my internet until I was able to get on.

Oh thank god this is not just me having this problem. I wonder if weather could be playing a part in it? Maybe the site could use a pruning? I don't know anything about running a site this big. It keeps telling me something about site volume. I can use it find at like 1-5 AM eastern time range and then again at like 8-12 AM eastern time range.

@Buzz: Maybe if the site deleted some of those threads or members that don't really exist anymore here the site would be smaller, but I don't know much about websites, I can only put designs and animations up, I have no clue on how they work.

Yeah says there is 503 Members, but only 250 active. Maybe removing the inactive ones with say 0 post could be effective. I don't know much about this type of thing either. I know how bad Serebii is and would hate to see this site become that bad.

@Buzz: Yes, I believe that by deleting those members you would open up valuable space, but you could also delete any closed threads or threads that have not been viewed in a long time, I went to archives and I was amazed at how many threads there are on this site that I haven't ever even seen before.

Yeah I cleaned up the deleted threads and post archives, but I am not sure if I have the power to do anymore then that. I know Steve does not want to delete post and threads unless necessary, but I thought pruning took care of the older threads, not sure though what pruning does he-he.

The problem is in the data center where my server lives. The hosting company has already contacted me and they are in the process of moving servers to a different facility.

I just checked and the server has been moved to the new facility. There should be no more lagging issues.

Good to know thank you. After I just went and cleaned up the Fan Art and Great Tools/Info sections he-he. I merged some threads and post to clean them up. Also went back into my Farm sub-forum and merged alot of post that I posted and I think I removed about 25 post from my total count he-he.

This forum is no where near needing a pruning and my server only ever runs above 10% capacity when it is doing backups. I did not buy a cheap server (hence the ads on site) so don't worry about pruning or other issues.

In fact I invite all of you to check out one of my other sites CATFO (http://www.catfo.com) and leave some comments over there.

I've never experienced lag. I use Safari though, it's supposed to be the best internet browser at this time.

I use Safari too and was flipping out trying to connect. I thought that I had a virus, I know Macs are not supposed to get sick, but......

Not quite the same. For the environmental part of my job I have to ensure that our company follows the guidelines set forth by the EPA and other Environmental Agencies, as opposed to an Environmentalist who... :twisted: actually I don't think I'm going to continue what I was going to say.
