Tournament Ideas

I am mulling over some tournament formats and would like all of you to comment and vote on them.

1) By the Letters: We provide three letters and you have to build a team of three Pokemon. Each Pokemon must correspond to one of the letters in the format. Standard PokeFarm battle rules apply.

Example

Letters: S, D, B
Pokemon on team: Snover, Drifloon, Bidoof

2) 15 Degrees of Separation: You can use any non-legendary Pokemon that are within 15 places of each other on the Pokedex. You can use any Pokedex you want (National, Hoenn, Sinnoh, etc...) and evolutions do not count as part of the 15 places. (Bulbasaur, Ivysaur and Venusaur are all in one place).

Example

(N-257)Blaziken, (N-272)Ludicolo, (N-282)Gardevoir.

3) Breeder's Cup: All Pokemon must be hatched by you and bear your trainer ID. Pokemon must be level 1.

Example

Munchlax, Snover, Heracross.

I like the breeders cup. I am going to be holding a UU/NU only tourny as soon as the boulder gym tourny is over.

I wondered what happened to all the tournaments. I am glad that people are dedicated to the Boulder Gym Tournament and that other members have respected the importance of the Boulder Gym Tournament.

I think the breeders cup has the most PokeFarm flair. :-D

My second choice would have been by the letters. :-D

The 15 degrees is pretty cool. Would you be assigned a number/number range to start from or would you as the contestant have free reign where you start from?

One note on the breeders cup, would those of us who use multiple cartridges for farming/breeding be hurt by this? I ran out of room on the cartridge I use for battling so I have another one where I do all my raising and IV checking on, then transfer the best 1 or 2 over to my battle cartridge for use in battles. I guess if worse comes to worse, I just work to get two good parents then transfer them to my other and do the final round of breeding there.

I would think if it was noted that you use 2 games, there could be an exception. That would be Steve's decision. Steve uses multiple games as well. Heck I use Diamond and Pearl as well as all 5 advanced games he-he.

so will the breeder's cup be a free battle with all the pokemon at level one, or will they be level ones brought up to lvl 50 or 100?

Being that they would have to be at level 1, I would say a free battle.

Belnumcree has hit the nail spot on: Breeders Cup has exactly the type of flair that PokéFarm stands for! I also like it because it adds a lot of strategy to the breeding, which normally would be evened out by EV training, which is nullified here. I saw the idea somewhere before, in a certain event in which people could win shineys (I'm sorry, I forgot the name, but credit to the creative one), and I really liked it.
The other ones are just not as strategicly. Even though they can limit your movepool to make some tough descisions, they are more random factors and don't really need any sort of decent preparation. I know it all sounds vague; I'm having trouble putting down my feelings on these. But that aside, my vote definitly is stamped on Breeders Cup.
