The PokeFarm Breeder's Cup Tournament for January, 2008

We will be holding a Breeder's Cup Tournament here on Pokefarm in the month of January. Dates are not set but the following items are set:

RULES:

1. No hold items will be allowed.
2. We will be using a Swiss system. If you do not know what that means the simple explanation is that one loss will not knock you out of the tournament so you must be able to commit to a full day of battling.
3. Participating members can not have more than 10 current infraction points against them.

POKEMON:

1. Because all Pokemon must be hatched by you this also means no legendaries.
2. Yes, I know Manaphy hatches from an egg but you can not breed a Manaphy, which makes it not legal for this tournament.
3. You can not have more than one of the same Pokemon on your team.
4. All Pokemon must be level 1.
5. All Pokemon must be hatched by you and have your trainer ID.
6. You will only use three Pokemon.
7. You must use the pre-evolved form of any Pokemon used. (Munchlax yes, Snorlax no).

PRIZE:

1. I have a level 3 shiny Zigzagoon named Lilly that I caught in my Ruby game several months ago. Never touched and I have no idea what her IVs are as she is still on my copy of Ruby.

Im definitly in. One question. Can we make it so non evolvers can not enter? If they are allowed pokes like Heracross and Pinsir would dominate.

The point here is to test your ability as a Pokemon breeder. IVs and EVs will have almost no effect on the power of your Pokemon because you will be using level 1 Pokemon in a free battle format (not level 50/100).

If you can breed an awesome pre-evolved Pokemon than that is just awesome!

There may be some more rule modifications before we go live based on some basic Pokemon being too strong (Snorlax) at level one compared to others.

Sounds like alot of fun, but im not sure i can commit to a whole day of battleling cos of the time change.

Can you feed the pokemon vitamins?
Can you teach pokemon tm/hm moves?
Can you teach pokemon move tutor moves?

I hope the answer is no to all of these, BTW.
The above are training tasks, not breeding tasks.

In theory you wouldn't know whether or not someone put the HM/TM moves on the pokemon after it hatched though, as they can be bred in.

You aren't allowed to use the stones because he requires the first evolution.

It sounds like to me it would be anything that is bred in. Move Tutor moves cannot be bred in, move relearn moves, but what first stage Pokemon has them?

Has anyone ever used Vitamins on a Level 1 Pokemon? I tested it and you can only gain 1 or 2 points total until you level up. You won't get the full effects of the Vitamins as you would at a higher level.

if you check your User Control Panel....... User CP.....

you will see if you ever got any infractions.....if you have any with more than 10 points you cant enter in tornament......i guess is like that...

Most Infraction points have an expiration date on them.

Erm, I wasn't really sure where to write this, but "pokemasterSD" is sort of spamming up the 'main page' announcement about the breeders cup with a non-related contest which he seems to be recruiting for (and a couple of iffy pokemon prizes).
It might stop people who might actually want to join the forum and see more about the real contest from doing so if they get confused :?

I got tons of level 1 Pokemon bred by me and as I am looking at them thinking, oh I will take this one, this one, and this one, I see another poor little Poke just staring at me with those sad doe eyes and I change my team again. Make it quick or I will have a Poke riot at my farm.

I've given 10 each to a level one before. I pretty sure. :(:(:(:( I think I'll test it. I've still be working on my team. now that I know the date it starts I'm going to have to double time it on putting to gether my team.

Also on the stones, I don't think you could use any of them being that most pokemon that require a stone have pre-evolve forms, which by the rules you have to use over the normal form. However I haven't used all the stones yet to know 100%.
