Right I'm not playing the blame game but lets be honest here, the mods aren't doing they're job, people are double, tripple quadruple etc etc in a row, constant spam is really annoying. So I says eiter get the mods to do their job properly, or new ones who are willing to do it properly. Also looking at the forum in more dept, it seems people stray from the topic and setup trades inbetween normal posts.

Oh PS yeah I have loads of experience moderating/administrating forums so i'd be a good choice.

I agree to some extent... There are certain topics which are perhaps in the wrong place (e.g. Ode to JoeyB). At the same time, however, I wouldn't like to see the forums turned into a police state, where you're afraid to post in case you get something wrong.

I can imagine that moderating a pokemon board takes more time and enery than some other types of board. The average poster age is likely to be much lower than some boards, meaning that not everybody fully understands all the different rules of net-etiquette such as not double posting etc...

I think the mods are generally doing a good job; they seem to step in when required, but generally leave us to our own devices. Doing that also helps to make to mods appear more "human", rather than moderating machines who sit on a cloud and who are higher than the rest of us :D

They wouldn't be afraid or anything just introduce an infraction system or something to cut down on the spam, it works effeciently.

I have nothing but positive things to say about the moderators on this forum. How can you stop interaction between people brokering a pokemon trade. I would think that it is natural for there to be some back and forth between all parties interested. I have read most threads and do not see much spam at all.
The average poster age is likely to be much lower than some boards, meaning that not everybody fully understands all the different rules of net-etiquette such as not double posting etc... RJosborne - I completely agree and think that pokefarm was created for younger people to trade in a safe environment.
In addition the mods seem to have dual roles, farmer/mod. From a farming standpoint, I can honestly say that I would not have any starter pokemon, other then Sinnoh, were it not for Bott, BryGuy,Whitdjin and TheTater Tot. Where else can you go and essentially trade a basic pokemon for the fantastic pokes with terrific movesets that have been available.
Anyhow, just my two cents, FWIW.

If you see a problem post PM a link to it to a mod or me.

Cherkat your going on about trades you got, that has nothing to do with the thread. Bottom line was that people just start trades up in the middle of a thread and the real topic of the thread is just buried. It would make it easier if people stuck to the right forum.

Can the moderators move unrelated links to their proper section? That could help alot.

I don't think there's much of a problem.
The only thing that annoys me is when people start having a "Hi how are you?" conversation in the middle of a thread, but I've only seen that happen once or twice.
The odd double post or slightly off-topic comment isn't really going to hurt anyone. If it gets out of hand then fair enough, but on all the times it has gotten out of hand so far, the mods have stepped in.
And its not like there's been much of a problem with arguments or nasty comments or whatever either.
The mods can't be too strict. Like RJOsborne said, noone wants it to get to a point where people are scared to post.
I think the mods are doing a brilliant job. (:

Everyone, thank you all for your kind words! We like to think we're doing a good job here, and from everything we've seen it appears we are. A lot of the people who use this site are younger, in a lot of cases they are children, and as such they do sometimes wander off topic or whatever, and they really can't be faulted for it. Yes, we can move topics and have done so. Yes, we can delete posts and topics and have done so. When we see something that needs to be done, we take care of it.When someone posted porn, we deleted it and banned the person responsible. When someone posted travel ads, we deleted it and banned the person. When someone posted electronics ads, we deleted it and banned the person. Beyond that, we generally like to leave the people alone, give them the FREEDOM to talk, discuss the game, set up trades, set up battles, etc. As has been stated already, we do not want to turn this into a 'police state' where people are afraid to post what they think for fear of having it deleted or what-not. If we started doing that, it would get to the point where every post is simply "I am looking for x, I have y to offer, please respond", and I'm sorry, but that is not what we want. We don't want this to become a sterile environment, where it's nothing more than a classified ad. We created this site to give people the ability to meet with others, to give them the freedom to discuss the game with others, and in that regard we've succeeded. Ultimately what it comes down to is this: if you have a problem with the site, with a person or a post or a thread, please send a PM to any of us moderators/administrators and we will do our best to resolve the problem in a timely and satisfactory manner. We haven't received many complaints, so that means that people are happy with the way it is, and as long as the people are happy, we are happy. If it ain't broke, why fix it?

You would think that the moderators of a site would have nothing better to do then sit and moderate the site 24/7, SARCASM. This site is by far the best I have seen in a long long time.

Thank you, BugCatcher! And yes, you are absolutely right. We moderators are all adults, with jobs, families, the whole bit. I myself don't have a family, but I am busy with work, school, AND I'm in the process of moving. So, you are correct, we all do have other things to do besides spend all of our time monitoring thise site 24/7. We devote all the time we can, which is a considerable amount of time, and from everything we've read and heard, there's been very few problems with the site. As always, if there ever is a problem, bring it to our attention and we will IMMEDIATELY take care of it, as we have been doing and as we will continue to do.
