Poke farm skins

Im not sure if this should go here but is about the forum.

I think the forum is kinda plain so I was wondering if it was possible to make skins for the forum. Kind of like serebii but better:D And each gym can have a permenant skin that matchs that gyms typing. Like mine would be green colors with grass pokes. Just a suggestion to make the forum even better.

I would say a basic skin, 8 Gym skins and a PokeFarm skin. 10 total is better then 496,000.

Never mind I had a joke here, but not something I should introduce to the forum of young kids. I really don't think that the farm forums should have their own skins. That would make another hurry up and farm just to our own sub-forum and skin.

I think farming should be done for farming and not for sub-forums or skins.

I would also like to re-mention that when Steve asked about what I thought for farms deserving a sub-forum for the original farms selected, I never once mentioned my own farm. I let my breeding do the talking and the sub-forum fame showcase it. Every farm I told Steve about got a sub-forum and I think they were well deserved.

I do not think the addition of custom farm skins would make people want a sub forum any more then they already do. I have another idea if this happens. Like the unlockable avatars the gym skins can be unlockable. So lets say i go to the mine gym and I love the skin. I beat the leader then the skin becomes available for all the forums sections instead of just in that gym. Of course the other gyms skins would stay the same.

Do you have any idea how? I tried searching Google for some kind of tutorial on how to skin, but I just end up with websites selling skins and other people saying "Just take the CSS code and put images in it."

lol I am still stuck on the tutorial I just need sizes of the images I am supposed to be making and I would be fine but that thing that WCN posted didnt make any sense to me lol (no offense WCN) but i just need a simple one maybe even the sizes I have to make

I'm messing around photoshop. It might be worth making an uncoded image and then figuring it out from there.

I mean, one that hasn't been cut into pieces to fit the forum yet.

For example, I took a screenshot of the front of the forum. Now I am measuring the pixels of each segment and using those dimensions as well as text/button locations to create an image that fits it.

Right now I'm going for a grassland theme and seeing how that looks. :)

Is there a way to choose between the new skin and the old skin? Also I wonder what color the text area could be to show all the colored text correctly. Most of the real light colors are hard to see and as an Electric Gym Leader I would like to use Yellow more he-he.

I think by usable we would need to slice up our images into segments that can be uploaded and encorporated into the CSS code.

FWIW I have never been able to see those colors well, especially yellow. I have a newer Imac with a pretty good screen.

Woah green pokefarm! It's nice, and obviously alot of hard work has gone into this. But may I make a suggestion?

It might be just a little easier to see, if the blue was brought back for particular parts of the forum?

On the main page - where the eggs are that show new/old posts
On sub forums - where the smilies/"last posts"/total number of posts columns are
And in threads - where peoples name's are across the top of each post.

If the old blue was brought back to those particular spots, it would create a green, pokefarm-themed background and trimmings, with the easy-to-read sky blue forum sitting over the top. And so perhaps it wouldn't be as comoflauged as it is now - with half the forum kind sinking into the background.

I hope this makes sense. It's difficult to get across what I mean.
But yeah, it is only a suggestion, and the work you've put in is great! :D:D:D

That was something I was thinking. We had an outcry of we want new skins for PokeFarm. We get a new skin and more outcries of oh my so bright. Just another one of those trial and error things until something is found that all 578 members like. Good luck with that Steve he-he.

That should be an optional skin. Like on serebii they have a skin for every type and you can choose what you want.

I think you just need to produce images that will make up the background of each segment. CSS code isn't really complicated, I just wish I had access to a vBulletin so we could test run skins.

the buttons are the original blue buttons after running them through some color filters. I tried to get them as close to the other green color as I could but...
