I like the shimmery as well. More animation that help keep your eyes from blurring when looking at them.

Sparkle, Sparkle, Sparkle - I think it catches the eyes quicker and makes you go "Oh my, hes/shes gooooooood!".

Plus theres the added incentive of them matching my rhinestone studded pants I have on made from the bejeweler I go for Christmas instead of an R2D2 garbage can. Sparkle Sparkle Sparkle

The Shimmery badges have one.

Shiny badges will be awarded when you beat the Gym Leader with a team hatched by you. These will replace the existing badges as the shiny ones also denote that you beat the Gym Leader.

We are working through a slight graphics problem with the badges (don't look right one a green background) so we can't start awarding them just yet.
