Thank you for tuning-in to Viscous Conservatory! Here at the Viscous Conservatory, we pride ourselves on studying and authenticating the history and evolution of species under the genum Monstrum-pokete, otherwise known as Pokemon. We hope that you will join us in our journey to discovering the secrets and truths behind many legends of Pokemon.
Today we follow the elusive Mp. cardoon, commonly known as the Cacnea. Cacnea are adept at living in rough terrain that regularly experience drought, such as deserts -- capable of storing water and surviving for at least 30 days before having to find more. They have evolved over time to take up the appearance of a cactus, able to ambush and trap prey by shooting sharp thorns from its body. Cacnea mate only once a year, producing a single yellow blossom to attract a potential mate. Mates are usually chosen based on how bright and fragrant the blossom is, a direct indication of the Cacnea's health. After gestation, hundreds of Cacnea are born, but only 1 out of 20 in the new generation will live long enough to reach maturity due to the harsh environment.
All Cacneas are born with the ability "Sand Veil." This ability allows the pokemon to mask itself when a sandstorm brews, allowing for it to easily hunt down prey or hide from other predators.
Recently, we've discovered a small brood of Cacnea, born from a couple late in the mating season. We offer these Cacnea to our viewers for a limited time, please give them a good home.
Moveset:
Sandstorm - Summons a sandstorm, masking itself from predators and prey. Strong sandstorms will also harm prey incapable of enduring the harsh weather. Teeter Dance - Appears as a mirage, causing predators and prey to become confused. Poison Jab - This attack is commonly used against prey, it has a chance to poison and begin the digestion process. Needle Arm - This attack ensures that the prey is immobilized before consumption.
Ability:
Sand Veil - Hides amongst the stirring sand.
