An all bug team?

Well,I defeated the elite four and the champion for the first time with my 6 favourite Sinnoh pokemon about 2 weeks ago, and since then i hav been working non top to complete my pokedex :D, however i want to take on the pokemon league again but this time with a whole new team of pokemon, an all bug pokemon team.Partly influenced by the first member of the elite four and the fact some of my favourite pokemon happen to be bug types i just wanted to know if people on the forum think if it wud be even possible to defeat the pokemon league with only bugs or shud i not even waste my time trainin up this team :D So far im thinkin of using scizor,( my defence against flyers)armaldo,(my defence against fire)vespiquen, and drapion(even tho hes not techically a bug type but lets face it hes an insect like pokemon).Others im thinkin about are parasect,shedinja, ninjask,heracross and forretress. If anyone has any helpful suggestions please respond, is it possible to do this or am i dreamin :D or has anyone on here done it already?

I've beaten 4 or the elite 4 with my Torterra (just not the champion), so go for it!!

Cool thanx, i didnt beat the pokemon league with only one pokemon by the way :D , i meant i defeated them with my 6 favourite sinnoh pokemon.

Yeah, except the champion, but by then my Torterra's all weak and tired an red I can't afford to buy many healers :lol: But I"m working on a new team, so hopefully I'll win next time!

Thats mad, i cant remember exactly but how many fire pokemon are used by the elit4 and champion again? Wuldnt that be a massive weakness of torterra? Its just my best bug at the moment is scizor and he is doubly weak against fire. :D

To me, Vespiquen, is a big pain to beat because she can heal herself. So to beat her I used my Dialga's heal block then beat her with Bouncy, but she's still tough, what moves does she have?

Well im gonna use scizor definitly becuz he can withstand flying attacks(a bugs worst nightmare besides fire), Drapion becuz his poisonous attacks are great and he knows thunder fang and ice fang, Vespiquen becuz its always handy to hav a flyer on the team and cuz i love her moveset like attack order,heal order,defend order and toxic, Armaldo becuz he can learn water attacks and withstand a certain amount of fire damage, and my other two slots are up in the air at the moment :D , maybe parasect cuz its a grass type and heracross or pinsir becuz its no harm to hav a slow but powerful pokemon on the team.

I think you should stick with Parasect and Heracross. Pinsir is weak against rock so it would unbalance your team.

I like fortress for a defence pokemon and im working on training my pineco. watch out for fire types!

Yeah, plus forretress can learn explosion with attack power of 200, a great last ditch attack if i get desperate in a battle, of course like scizor its a bug/steel type so yeah fire wud b devestating.

Aw thats awesome, what pokemon are you using? I love Houndoom by the way.

Yep, Houndoom, Arcanine, Manetric, Lucario (though not quadruped, still definitely canine to me xD, might substitute with Espeon), Umbreon, Ninetails. Yeah, so half of the team is fire-type, and a third is dark, but I have a lot of weaknesses covered. For example, I've got some egg moves like Vulpix with Energy Ball and Electrike with Ice fang ^^. It's a challenge, but I like puppies :D

Thats really cool, i dont really understand the egg move thing yet, the faq put up on the main page was really helpful but im relying mostly on tms and naturally learnt moves for my bugs the move tutor is helpful too, he taught my drapion ice fang and fire fang. Are you gonna use a leafeon as ur grass type?

The egg move thing is actually really simple once you get the basics. But it doesn't work with ditto,

Tms pass down easier dont they and moves both parents know. Its just figuring out how for instance to get a water pokemon to learn an electric attack thru breeding that confuses me, it can be done yeah?

Yeah, I'm working on a getting a a move passed down right now, the only problem is that my pokemon hasn't learned the move yet lol. I'm still training her.

Well, since i first started this thread i hav trained my all bug team endlessly, scizor,drapion,armaldo,vespiquen,heracross and parasect. I didnt believe it was possible to defeat the pokemon league with just bugs.............but............unbelievably i just did,i still cant believe it,my team had an average level of 60, all connected by the fact they were all bugs or bug like at least. Parasect a pokemon i never really liked and considered useless by most actually turned out to be my biggest super sub, proving itself against the ground expert in the elite4, i had to teach it solar beam and sunny day by TM but it was worth it, thanx to everyone who left a comment here you really helped me pick my final team. Bugs Rule!!!!!
