i was wondering if you guys the moderator could tell us all the banned members and why...
because i recivied a pm from patricia...but i cant reply cause she is banned...
just be curious...sorry if this is in the wrong section...
What would you need the list of banned members for?
well not like a list.
i just tought because...for example she pm me...and i dont know i only wanted to know why...
or what happen.

She was banned because of some PM regarding religion. It might be lifted, I don't know. I don't know all the info, but PokeFarm states that
5. Real Life Politics and Religion are topics that are not allowed. We have found that even in the very rare occasions when these topics can be discussed civilly, they require a great deal of moderator attention. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis if such discussions relate directly to gaming, though this is at the sole discretion of our moderators. Any thread that the moderators decide requires too much moderator attention may be locked.
Though it was via PM's, I doubt that talks of religion to a member she does not know is appropriate to do with regards to the rules.

If you are banned, you need no contact with anyone on the forum period. If you exchange e-mails that is another thing. Patricia is permanently banned as right now. We would have offered a warning or infraction or maybe even a smaller ban, but for some reason she cannot be found on the Members List. In the Administrators Control Panel she is there as a registered user, but nothing in the forums shows she is a member.
I am sorry to say Pokemon and Religion do not go together. I am a semi religious person and I know others here are religious, but this is not the place to discuss it.

I got this too. Viscous, it was an Albert Einstein comment on a certain religion... not sure if I am allowed to state what religion it was, so I will let it drop at that.

I understand people on the banned list are taken off the member's list. If it was that simple, I think the Admins/Mods would have caught that problem by now.

I wonder if we could have a list of people who are temp banned for non-serious reasons? For example, I don't know if you remember Buzz, but there was a period of time where I had someone reserved for a pokemon & I could not contact them in any way since they had been temp banned. I don't know if I ever found the reason, but I don't think it was a really bad reason. So it made things awkward for me -- should I have let someone else take the pkmn or save it for this temp banned person (I didn't know if it was a temp ban & how long they would be banned for)?

Possibly this person felt that a pm was in fact p? Not that I am agreeing with the subject matter, religion and politics do not belong on a Pokemon forum. And I am not disagreeing with the admin's decision to ban, just saying, Banned, how sad.

The member was banned because we could not PM to find out what the deal was. I am going to try and send an e-mail, but she is banned until we find out why.

I doubt highly that Arceus will ever be released in the US.
Pokemon and religous beliefs don't mix well...

Arceus is known as the God pokemon.
I seriously doubt any english translation of it's background will mention God.
"God" means something very different in the west than it does in Shinto (The traditional religion of Japan, as opposed to Buddism which was imported later). In Shinto you could have lots of local gods, like the god of a lake or the god of a valley and it wasn't strange at all to have gods of an animal or a type of tree.
Needless to say, alot of these things just don't come across the same. Lots of Japanese things with "God" in the title are just translated differently when they come over here.
Heck, in the '80 there was a whole line of transformers that were called "Powermasters" here in the US and "GodForce" in Japan. Same toys, same characters. Just renamed.
But that really has nothing to do with this thread.
I have enough trust in how this site is run that if someone was banned, I trust it was because they commited a serious infraction. We don't really need to know what it was and it is actually more respectful for a banned individual to not say why. If *I* got banned, but was later re-instated I would rather people not talk about me when I wasn't able to defend myself. I would rather either discuss the ban with those who were interested when I come back, or quietly fade into the memory of the board.

I guess the type of ban I'm concerned about is the "I'm on vacation" ban. I know we have a thread "Goodbye for Now" that helps alleviate this problem, but we still get a few people who make a thread and get themselves banned. x_x;; It causes a pain when you are expecting to make a trade with them, and then POOF DISAPPEAR! And I have to go through their posts/threads to see that they purposely got themselves vacation-banned.

It was a SPAM PM. It was a quote from Einstein about Buddhism. I gave a link to the PMers Website with more links to Buddhism topics. The reason for the PMs are not clear. The reason for sending them is trying to be figured out.
I know people love to hear the who and why of why members where banned. That is a private matter, which was broke when a post was posted with a list of members and their reason for being banned. I deleted that post and hope only a few may of saw it. As of right now this topic is closed and any further discussion of it in another thread or post, or a PM to a Admin/Mod asking why so and so is banned, will have a ban infraction used on the poster.
