Hey y'all! This is a topic I was discussing with Nak, but I wanted to see how some of you feel.

I want to setup a contest and originally I was going to have it integrated to my next Viscous Conservatory episode, but Nak suggested it might be good enough to be a stand-alone contest. I'm still tossing this around my mind, so I don't know if I'll separate it from my farm yet.

Anyway, I don't want to say what the contest is, but instead of pkmn prizes, I want to give item prizes.

So I wanted to get a feel for what items were most popular & in the highest demand. Nak suggested flutes & Sacred Ash. I've got berries and could probably get a hold of a good handful of TMs.

What would YOU say are the best items for prizes?

I am sure certain TM's, like Earthquake, would be interesting. Also, one of the very rare berries, or Sacred Ash which Nak suggested would be nice. Maybe you could have a choice of items, because some people have problems going through Battle Tower to get BP, so BP prizes could also be an option.

I would suggest some of the choice items because some of those seem to be in demand some times. trade evloution items might also be good since those seem to be somewhat rare.

EDIT: heart scales/rare candys/pp ups are also interesting items that you may want to add

Black Sludge is also good, since it's pretty hard to obtain.

I'd second Black Sludge & the Choice items.

Sacred Ash is *really* hard to get ahold of, but mainly of interest to collectors as you really can't use it in the competitive arena and by the time you get it in the game's story, you don't need it anymore :)

I agree with the previous posters that certain hard-to-get TMs as well as the BP items would be great, and I also agree with Bumbee that some hard-to-get evolution items like Dragon Scale, King's Rock, or DeepSeaTeeth (DeepSeaTooths?) would be great (maybe the harder the item is to get, the higher ranking prize it could be?). And everyone always could use a heart scale, though they're pretty easy to get if one invests some time in it (I go underground when I just want to veg out, I currently have about 45 heart scales :-P). I don't know how you're setting up your contest/prizes, but you could even think about booby prizes and such. :lol: I like the idea for item prizes, btw - can't wait to see what your contest is all about! :)

^__^ My idea for the contest is relatively simple, so I hope a lot of people participate. It doesn't require that much knowledge, breeding, or even battling. It would only require a bit of time & effort.

So what do you mean by booby prizes? How do those work?

Well, a booby prize is like joke prizes for silly categories - like if it were a battle, you could give, say, the TM Flash for the team that had the flashiest moves but really tanked (due to the moves being all about flassh and pizzazz instead of a winning moveset). It's kind of like a consolation prize for losers but in a humourous way. There are probably all sorts of fun things you could come up with, but I'm just too tired to come up with any better examples. :-P

Ooh!!! I like it. ^__^ Now you're making me brainstorm all the prizes possible for the other end of the spectrum.

I don't want to give too much away, but the contest would involve a characteristic of a pokemon. So it's possible for people to be on one end of the spectrum and others to be on the totally opposite end.

I just wanted to let you know, this is a great idea :) There are plenty of rare and hard to get items that members are always trying to get their hands on.

I think Lucky Eggs are eligable under the category of wanted items, as are Master Balls and Exp. Shares.

ANd how do you get sacred ash?!?!?!

Sacred Ash is found in FireRed/LeafGreen/Emerald (I think), you get some ticket at a Nintendo event, go to an island, where you find Ho-Oh and Lugia, and near where Ho-Oh is, you find the Sacred Ash. And I agree on the Power Items, they would be good for most people!

I think any Battle Tower item would be worth it. Would save some of us precious hours/days of our lives trying to get battle points.:lol:
