What do the flags mean in Subspace?

There is at least one level that is just a boss battle yet I lack a flag. No crowns for me at this moment thought I did complete the subspace Embassy Mission with 85%. Wait a minute... I get it now, the flag only means you entered and exited the level but there is still stuff there. What you call a crown I call a bit of glowing nothingness. So, I need to get rid of all those flags to go to 100%.

What about the parts for stage building? I got a message saying I have unlocked Parts A and Parts B yet I see nothing new in my stage builder?

It depends on the size and theme of the map you make. It changes what is available to use.

I only have a flag on the Maze, now, so I have to search far and wide for that last percentage point...

Heh, I just polished off the last couple of orange boxes, so now I'm at 100%! Yey!
