I second that, because I'm 22. It's good to know that the pokemon games appeal to all ages though.

Besides, being 22 (or 30 or what ever) makes us old enough to qualify as veterans of the game, entitling us to go on about the good old days of 151 pokemon and when the starters were hard to get because you couldn't breed anything :D

Red, blue and yellow must be slightly later released than I thought they were in that case, but I would imagine there are a few players on here who don't remember the 1st generation games very well, with those games being 11 years old in japan and 8/9 years in europe and the us.

the games all came out quite a bit later in the UK than they did in Japan and the US
I remember getting it actually.
When yellow came out I was desperate for it so my mom got me it and my first game boy for christmas. and then a few weeks later i bought blue.
I think i was about 7 or so.
But yeah. there's probably a few people on here who weren't even born when blue and red came out.

Pokemonlover is 8, she must have been born shortly after Red and Blue were released. It does say something about the games that, after 10 or so years, they still hold up quite well, well enough to attract a new generation to the games! I remember when Red and Blue were released, but (and I hate to admit this) I didn't pay much attention to them when they came out. The first Pokemon games I ever owned (and played) were Gold and Silver. By then I already had a Game Boy Color and what-not.

I believe I had a gameboy colour, but I know I started with pokemon red the christmas it came out, so I may have been using the gameboy brick err... I mean original to play it for a while. This was, however, the days where my teams consisted of 4 attacking water moves on a water type etc, until I got destroyed by the pokemon stadium AI so had to use different type TMs.

I remember putting 150 hours into yellow and recently believed that to be an awful lot of hours.

Then diamond/pearl came along with their wifi and I've sunk 200 hours into it since I got it on import a couple of months ago and I'm not showing any signs of stopping yet.

i remember getting my first pokemon game at 3 years old as soon as my friend and his babysitter taught me how to play i whizzed past all the people on my street with pokemon games and fought them one by one beating them like there was no tommorow then finally the top 3 were admitted into the pokemon club (a childhood club) and fought eachother numerous times for fun. my first pokemon game was yellow with a pikachu and pichu theme border gameboy colour the rest is history all history. sorry to take so much time back to your mingling and stuff. :oops:

Pokemon Diamond is my first ever pokemon game but I've been a fan of the series forever! I remember the time when I could name all the pokemon with the PokeRap, LOL.

Pokemon has been around for over 10 years now so don't be all that surprised if some of the Pokefans are in their late 20's or even 30's.

30's is probably about as high as you will see and most of them probably got into it via their kids (like me) rather than as a kid.

I picked up Gold at the time, and was hooked, until I completed that PokeDex. I thought the gold cloning glitch was the best!

Completely lost interest until I heard about the online capabilities in Pearl/Diamond and here I am!

I am a guy and I am 28. I have a lot of friends younger then me telling me to give up Pokemon. I can't. I have always been into RPG and Simulation games. Especially games where you can raise monsters, like Dragon Seed, Monster Rancher, and Kiria. Pokemon has taken everything good from those games and made it into one. My son is 3 and he is into Pokemon, his favorite being Chimchar so that was my starter in Pearl. I cannot wait until he fully understands the games, so for now I show him pictures from my guides and we watch the cartoons. I am never going to outgrow Pokemon, unless they do something drastic to make it unappealing, yeah right hehe.
