So to get the badge, we fight the gym leader with any Pokemon of our chooses except no legendaries. Then we can switch out our Pokemon while the gym leader can't, and if we win, we get a badge for our user profile correct?

What I don't understand is this Elite Four concept. Are we going to have another 4 (5 including the champion) leaders that you must play consecutively (at least, with the same team)? Do we have to prove ourselves to become one of these leaders? Because I have the intention of breeding a perfect IV/EV Water/Ground team which follow the exact same rules as these gym leaders, so I was wondering if there was any chance of me becoming anything? Just need a few things clearing up.

I wasn't sure about this, so I wanted to ask before I challenge somebody.. Are you allowed to use different pokemon for different gyms, or do you have to keep the party you start out with? I'm sorry if this question has already been asked or answered, I just wanted to know before I go and do something that we're not supposed to

Yes, you are allowed to take a different team each time you battle a Gym leader. It is best you find the weakness of that Gym and bring the best to battle us.

however, once all 8 Gyms are obtained. the Elite 4 will be a different story. for this, you will have to bring the same team to beat all 4 and the Champion , just like in the Game.
