Well the much anticipated new section is up.

I'd like some suggestions on how to keep the info as organized as possible.

I'm thinking:
Start a new discussion for an individual pokemon every week and then get a final writeup.
Set it up like the Trade area, with each pokemon having it's own discussion thread.

Any other ideas?

Note: Please don't create new threads in this section at this time.

That sounds like a good idea. :D So we are solely focusing setting up a Pokemon for battle, right? Or do we have to come up with the Adventure mode part as well like in the main site?

It's more geared toward battle, but I don't see why an adventure mode couldn't be added. It would be fun. :D

Actually, I was hoping on focusing more on battling as well. I was just asking. :D Btw, why are the words "strategy" and "tactics" capitalized under the description of The Battle Tower?

belnumcree

Cause they're important words that deserve capitalization. :D

Soon as the organization method is determined. I'm a little fearful of 6 threads devoted to (insert super awesome pokemon here) popping up.

I see. :D Hmm, we could by tier. I mean, OU's are OU. Meaning people will be interested in those the most (except for the UU below fans). =D

This sounds like a great idea, maybe have a seperate forum for the different pokemon and strtergys, btw are you looking for ideas for stratergys yet?

Still trying to figure out how to do it and keep it organized right now. Each pokemon will have it's own thread.

What I need suggestions on

How many pokemon at a time

One at a time
One from each tier
All at once with a thread to throw random suggestions at for each fully evolved pokemon

How to decide which pokemon to do
Volunteers to help compile the data

I have some great ideas for movesets!!!! I would love to share my brand of moveset intuition! WARNING: These movesets are not for the weak of heart, or the impatient. (yeah, i'm talking about my brother)

A voting idea I've seen on another forum is to have people say which Pokemon they want. Then, once three votes on the same Pokemon are accumulated, it wins and votes are recounted.

I'm tired from New York, and I'm thinking that what I said didn't make sense. So, here's an example:

Post 1: I vote for Pokemon A.
(Tally: A-1)
Post 2: I vote for Pokemon B.
(Tally: A-1, B-1)
Post 3: I vote for Pokemon A.
(Tally: A-2, B-1)
Post 4: I vote for Pokemon C.
(Tally: A-2, B-1, C-1)
Post 5: I vote for Pokemon B.
(Tally: A-2, B-2, C-1)
Post 6: I vote for Pokemon A.
(Pokemon A wins, votes reset)

I would say one Pokémon at a time. I would start in the OU Tier, do like 2 OU and then the 3rd one could be from a lower tier. 2 OU then 1 lower until all OU are used up. Fully evolved is o.k., but one thing other sites do is sometimes overlook some of the under evolved. Sycther and Scizor both have kinda different move-sets, not always but most times are used different. Dusknoir and Dusclops are in the same boat. Even like Misdreavus and Mismagius, they can be used the same, but stats and tiers they are kinda used differently.

One thing that other sites do as well is even with the tiers they don't included the under evolved Pokémon for many of the species. They throw them all into an Under-Evolved tier and that is not fair because some could go in the NU, UU, BL. or OU tiers, Chansey coming to mind and the Rhyhorn family.

So at some point I would like to redo the tiers. I have a way to test Pokémon for the tiers, which is something I am planning to do with class projects once I finalize the Poké Academy ideas.

I could help compile the data. I think that it should be 1-2 pokemon at a time like have a team of 3-4 working on 1 pokemon a week.

I think you should do 3 pokemon at a time. 2 OU and then 1 UU that could reak havok in OU if used correctly.

Has anyone started a write up yet?

I wrote one up for Raticate in the NU tier, it just needs approved by a staff member.

I have an idea and just wanted to see what others thought. Adding a line for ideal IVs. Like for Raticate the ideal IVs to look for would be 31/31/x/x/x/31 or maybe the idea IVs would be HP/ATK/x/x/x/SPD.

Alrighty, I'll just start in alphabetical order, it'll make pokemon easier to find and I guess I'll just sticky them in order.

Most sites have this as an optional part of strat guide because it is seldom used.
Optional addition...?
I'll add it to template.

I was thinking of Sticky in alpha order when complete.

Can anyone reply to these threads?
Do we want to be more strict on thread commentary?

I'd prefer to see threads in here strictly on topic.

I think discussions on the pro's and cons would be nice, but only if the poster can explain their reasoning.

ex

"Tackle PWNS" I don't think would be acceptable.

"You could add U-turn to catch an incoming Psychic" would.

I'd say once discussions are over close it. Say let each one run a week? Then we can dress the sections up later. :-D

I don't want to sound rude, but do you think I am expecting to much on the battle conversation front? Not many people get into detail like I do. I like knowing the numbers behind everything. I like to think out the battle in my head and use each move in my head and think of possible outcomes. I computer geek it I guess.

Just wanted to drop an update here. I don't want this to come off mean or rude, just have some thoughts to drop out.

Now for the most part it seems PokéFarm has created the ultimate breeding site. Most questions are being asked by new members and our older members are able to help. So that to me seems like this site has done it's job of helping people become farmers.

So now we have began to migrate towards the battling side and get more indepth about it. But it still seems like we have the same core group of people doing all the talking. Not saying this is bad, but how can others learn if there are not more questions? This section is meant to give you a base move-set to work with, but it seems most people are replying with this is awesome. Which as one of the writers I am pleased people like it, but the goal was to get people discussing the move-sets. Get people saying nice move-sets, but I like using this move over that move.

If there are no discussions then our move-sets become like Smogon and Serebii. Cookie cutter Pokémon. I don't want people following my move-set move for move. I would like for people to look at it and tweak it. Try it out and find out what works for you.

I know I still get PMs asking questions that people are afraid to ask in the forum. You should never be afraid to ask a question. Asking in the forum allows over 300+ active members a chance to answer instead of just 1 Buzz. Also your questions could help other people.

I agree. Here's an idea, i'll think up of a couple questions pertaining to what move choice would a farm member make in a certain situation, and different pokemon, and, post them in a thread, and have it be a weekly thing, like razors logic puzzles, and work from there?
