It is that time once again. A new month begins and a new Breeder's Cup Tournament is set.
In the past we have done some very interesting tournaments. We have tested your ability not only to breed but also to work under a set point limit and to create a team that battles in the doubles format. This month will be no different.
Unlike past events this month we will be doing an event that requires your Pokemon to gain a few levels. Unlike in the past, where all Pokemon were level 1, this time around all Pokemon must be level 20 or under.
Yes, you heard me right, I said level 20 or under. I don't expect anyone to use a Pokemon lower than level 20 but those are the rules.
As always, the Pokemon you use must be bred and trained by you and you alone.
To make things a little bit interesting all Pokemon must have exactly three moves on them; one Special, one Physical and one Status. If a Pokemon can not have one of each than they may only have one move and so on.
You will be using three Pokemon on your team and all of them must have different typings. Not only must they all be different you are only allowed one dual-type Pokemon on your team.
There is no point restriction in play for selecting your Pokemon. The only restriction is that you must hatch the Pokemon from an egg that you bred. This effectively knocks out all legendaries (including Manaphy).
This will be a Singles Battle contest.
All Pokemon must be hatched on or after May 1, 2008.
I know some of you really like your hold items. I mean really like your hold items. I'm going to relax the hold item rules only slightly for this tournament.
As always there is no duplication of items on your team. All berries are legal and you may use one non-berry hold item.
Rules:
1. All Pokemon must be Level 20 or under.
2. All Pokemon must be bred by you. If someone else gives you an egg and you hatch that Pokemon will not be legal for this tournament.
3. All Pokemon must have one move of each type: Physical, Special and Status. That means three total moves.
4. Three Pokemon on your team.
5. No type may be repeated on your team.
6. Only one dual-type Pokemon allowed on your team.
7. Single Battle Contest.
8. All Pokemon hatched on or after May 1, 2008.
9. Two berries and one non-berry hold item allowed per team
Dates:
The first week of May will be used for discussion of the tournament. On Friday May 9th I will open up the registration period. This will run until Friday May 16th. From then until Friday May 23rd all registrants must send in their team (via PM) and post in the Battle Record thread. Failure to do these two things by Friday May 23rd will result in you forfeiting your place in the tournament.
All battles must be concluded by midnight of Sunday May 25th GMT.
