Just curious about what people would like to learn. I have set projects that teach little things, but I would like to know what you are having trouble with and I could build projects around these problems.

Here's some stuff I'd like to know:
1. Double battle strategies--I have some ideas, but would like the opportunity to test them.
2. Items--Why to use some over others, the whole Berry thing, etc.
3. EVs--How to get them quickly and how to "cement" them (so they won't change, like some people have said, but wasn't that just b/c they traded it?)
4. Breeding with multiple males (eww...)--i.e. breeding one move from Pokemon A and another two from Pokemon B and then another from Pokemon C; is it possible?
5. How to correctly use Choice Items
6. How to go about farming--from one parent or just grab the best from different batches?
7. Good combo attacks (like the ones that people make nicknames about; the only one I can think of right now is SubSeed)
8. How to create a moveset and cover as much as possible without having to check Smogon or ask someone

I'm sure most of these are easy-answer type questions, but what the hey. :)

All very good questions and all something I can teach. I could write an entire guide, oh I did, and it would not help everyone. Some people learn differently. I for one, if someone writes something down, I can memorize it and never forget. If I take notes, I cannot learn from rereading my own notes. If I do something one time, I can build off that until I remember.

So maybe I can redo the projects and forget the NFE stuff for now. Starting with your 4th question, that is a breeding chain and I will work on a project to teach some breeding chains.

Goody; I'm interested with this breeding chain stuff; I tried it when I did Phanpy and completely screwed up.

For me, I find it easiest to learn hands-on, like with projects. When I'm breeding it and calculating and whatever, it sticks. When I'm just taking notes or reading something, like in school, it's hard for me to remember unless I study it, usually verbally. (I remember in sixth grade, when we had to take a boating driver's training class, I grabbed some Legos and acted out the maneuvers and whatnot. Fun.) Doing a project has that effect, at least for me.

Well right now I was trying to do something huge since I was given the Poké Academy. But I thought about it and it is not about me and making me look good. It is about making others better. I have had a lot of farmers that even before my classes, I helped them learn farming. I have helped with battling. To me seeing a new farm open from a person that took my class is awesome. Being beat in the Gym by a person that took my battle stuff is awesome. Seeing farmers rack up events and battlers lining up badges is my reward.

One thing with breeding chains, it is not memorizing who can breed with who and what moves. Planning and organizing your breeding is key. I will work on a project that will range teach some chaining.

Hmm just had a thought. What about building battle scenarios. ie

You've just entered a battle

You
Donphan @ Shell Bell
Impish
252 HP/ 106 Att/ 152 Def
Stealth Rock
Rapid Spin
Earthquake
Ice Shard

(Maybe List Reserve pokemon)

Opp leads with
Ninjask

What do you do and why?

Perhaps this could help with prediction?

O.K. I will need somebody to teach me that first he-he. If I was able to do this my Gym record would have been much better he-he. I know what you mean though. I could give preselected builds and then have each person battle a Pokemon I hand pick and see how they counter it.

That would be cool; I'd love to get into that stuff, like in that Counter Thread, but I don't have the knowledge to do so yet.

Well first I'd like to learn how to find out good movesets. With things like this I'd rather not have someone teach me good ones, but only how to find out if one's good, so then I won't be copying. Like...what moves to have so you can cover your weaknesses and such. After that...I guess I'd like to learn how to run events with layout and the story and stuff.

Finding move-sets is not difficult. You have to look at your Pokemon and it's weaknesses and decide which scares you the most or which you can counter. The best way to counter your weaknesses is to switch out to something that counters their Pokemon.

Good questions and I am working on projects to teach them.

I know you just gave that as an example, but in such a case you'd really want to know more about your opponent's battling style. If they switch a lot, they'll probably realize that your Donphan has ice shard and switch, making stealth rock your best choice. If they don't switch a lot, you'd want to ice shard for sure.

That's what I would have done, or just switch out the donphan, predicting the switch. I would switch into a dugtrio with Stone Edge, and some other good moves. Arena Trap for the win.

And that's the biggest problem you face most of the time. How to read your opponent. Do you try to predict their prediction, do you just go with the best choice and not take into account their possible move? Some time into the match you should get a feel for your opponent, but in the beginning and especially with leads, most of the time (unless your battling friends) you don't know. :-D

Well Ninjask can

Sub
Protect
Swords Dance

Guessing which one it will do is just luck most of the time. lol

And arena trap won't stop Jask from switching due to the flying type. I think Baton Pass still works w/ arena trap. :-D

may i join in im not very good with setting moves that work with the hp and attack and stuff like that and i really need to breed better
so may i?:D

Standard Nijask moves are protect-Sword dance-protect-baton pass and gives three speed boosts and a 2 stage attack boost to the next pokemon. If you lead with ice shard the Ninjask will probably baton pass in the second move to a bulky water type. And arena trap won't stop baton pass. If you lead with Stone edge it has only 80 accuracy and 5pp. If you miss on the second move you could be in trouble big time.

But it doesn't say "Stone Edge", it says "Stealth Rock"... and although Ice Shard tempts me, I think I would actually Stealth Rock in case Ninjask chose to switch/protect.

I'm not such a great battler though, not yet. I'm pretty bad at predicting.

Oh, cuz I was predicting a switch, that's why i used a dugtrio.
