Pokemon types

In mystery dungeon I noticed that fire is effective versus grass water versus fire etc.

However I cant figure out if it works in reverse. Fire is not less effective versus water etc.

Is this true or wishful thinking?

i think what i know what u mean and if a fire type uses flamethrower aginst a Mudkip it will do less. but even normal types work on ghost. so who knows.
