i decided to hatch all the eggs in my PC, and i couldnt help notice that the eggs i hatched in cities turned out to be male, and all the ones i hatched in routes turned out to be female... such a strange co-incidence.. can anyone confirm or disprove this for me? thanks and sorry if it's a silly question to ask pokefarmers out there...

Wow now you got me thinking. I use the path that runs threw Solacean Town. Now I have to check to see where the females hatched and the males hatched.
By my count I have had just about equal amount females/males on Route 209, Solacean Town, and Route 210. Could just be your luck. My luck er bad luck in the game is every Pokemon I try to breed with my group of Dittos, don't get along well so it takes forever to make eggs.

Heh, My sister likes hatching Cyndaquils, she has 3 boxes full of them. No, I am serious, and she uses the Soclaeon Town method, which is just riding up and down a road. I can estimate about 27 males out of 30 in a box, which is about the right percentage stated by facts from pokemon.marriland.com, are males, and supposing that the routes above and below Soclaeon equal the distance from the top of the town to the bottom, it's probably just ingame luck which caused what happened in your case. Of course, it all depends on what you are breeding though. I am just using the starters for an example.

yeah, i use the solaceon town method sometimes too.. but not yesterday... i was hatching burmies and ralts in pastoria (i've no idea why there XD) but the ones i hatched IN pastoria turned out to be male and the ones i hatched in route 20-something turned out female.. it was really strange, but you guys are right, it may have had been sheer luck =)

I use that method all the time and have not noticed a differences in male to female ratio. It may just be the Pokemon you are hatching.

I think it's random, I've gotten like 5 females in a row and some times I get male after male. It be cool if that was the case. I guess I'll have to test it to see.

I'm sure I've read that everything about the pokemon inside an egg is determined as soon as you recieve it from the daycare man, in which case where you hatch the egg has no effect on the pokemon's stats, including gender.
I could be wrong though.
I'd test it out myself, but I'm supposed to be doing coursework right now  Maybe someone else could do it and clear it up for everyone :3
If not, I'll have a go at the weekend when I have some free time. :)

That'd be lovely, because I've got a growing pile of homework myself XD
